Kind of depressing reading in the Epstein files about outcry witnesses. If a victim tells another person about a rape right after it happens, it's basically always true. If it's decades later, it may still be true, but it's contested.

In other news, Trump's alleged victim told a witness right way.

It's bad enough to have one unhinged lunatic on the world stage to still have to deal with Putin & Xi biding their time in the wings.
📰🇪🇺 Fears grow in Europe that Putin could attack within a year — WP

Previously, Berlin and other capitals believed that Russia could threaten NATO’s eastern flank by 2029. Now, the consensus is growing that it could happen much sooner — before Europe can build up its own military power.

It seems ICE has bought a massive, massive warehouse in Hutchins, TX, not far from my home, part of an archipelago of these warehouses it's been buying with the intention to use as industrial scale "immigration" prisons. Here's what I think about that.

We're reduced to courts needing to give the administration elementary lessons in civics. This is the thread holding the US together right now.

"Well, Dr. Franklin, what do we have?"
"A republic, if you can keep it."

I know this isn't even worth noting anymore, but this exchange sums up how impossible it is to deal with maga online. They'll insult you and confidently throw up the wrong info w/this line that they're calmly moving on, so it doesn't even matter if you explain in exacting detail why it's wrong.

As if the US imploding wasn't enough drama for the world, Zhang Youxia's alleged open letter upon his arrest is something else. One consistent theme vis-a-vis opposition to the US's & China's dictators, at least, dissent is an act of patriotism. www.youtube.com/watch?v=95Ay...

We are not the first people, or the first country, to suffer under a tyrannical government that does not respect our lives, or our rights.

There is a method for how to effectively resist, and eventually topple, such a regime. We can learn from others who came before us.

This is my favorite guide.

Alex Pretti, whom DHS labeled a domestic terrorist, honoring a veteran that passed away in the ICU.

The Magats have really lost the plot with this one. This is a man that not only didn't hate his country or its service members but honored them and their service.
A video of Alex Pretti reading out the final salute of an unnamed veteran he cared for until the end of his life in the ICU, posted to Facebook by his son.

Our latest report (hrn.or.jp/eng/news/202...) gave a lot of important attention to the pull out of the US from so many int'l organizations & its expected consequences. It's getting almost no attention these days, but along w/the disintegration of USAID, it's what may end up harming the most people.

There needs to be accountability for all of this.

One thing even worse than their abuses by themselves is the lack of accountability instilling impunity in them, so their abuses only get worse & more brazen over time. It's critically important & there's even a duty to punish all of this.
THE WOMAN WHO WAS DRAGGED OUT OF HER CAR AND ARRESTED BY ICE SPEAKS OUT…

We’ve all seen the videos, but it matters to hear Aliya Rahman say it herself.

📌 She says her treatment in custody was dehumanizing, and that officers completely failed to take her disability seriously.

I posted predictions for Trump's admin before it started regarding ICE & detentions & said on the 1st anniversary I'd post the results. That day is today, and sadly but not surprisingly Trump's admin has failed every one, some very serious crimes. I'll put sources for every item in the comments.

Can't really call this a bright side when the leader of the US is falling apart in real time in front of the world, but at least the world is getting a valuable lesson in what narcissist collapse looks like & why pwNPD shouldn't be elected leaders.

They should have learned it from Charlie Sheen. =L

The DC MLK memorial strikes me b/c of how well it communicates that, like the statue, his work is unfinished & it's our responsibility to carry it on. That's the message of MLK Day today.

None of us are free until all of us are free & sustainable freedom requires economic and social rights for all.
