One of my best memories as a Dad came about two months ago after I received my #autism diagnosis. I'll remember my 5 yr old's smile when I told him that I'm autistic just like him for the rest of my life. It was something I never knew I needed.

So happy #FathersDay to my fellow dads of all kinds.
As a voting rights attorney in TX, I can attest to the fact that how we run our elections here needs to be completely overhauled.

"The state said, Here, check these people out . . . without any real strict guidance on what the process should be or what resources they should use to do the research".

Cause fuck those special needs kids right?

Millionth example of #MAGA and the #protectourkids crowd being ghoulish assholes and actively harming our kids.

This is what happens when an administration that actively believes in eugenics comes into power.

This is absolutely an outrage. And the sheer fucking audacity of the school district to require these parents to sign an NDA to view the recordings of their special needs kids suffering abuse at the hands of the district's employees.

Just a periodic reminder that being autistic isn't a death sentence and the fact that it's being treated like the worst possible thing a person can have is ludicrous.

Tomorrow is going to be a shitty day for many autistic people. The report on itself is bad, but so is the language we're going to see officials use to describe autism.
New: inside Trump’s “very important” autism announcement for Monday

— new warnings on tylenol’s risk for pregnant women

— new endorsement of leucovorin’s potential as autism treatment

— new NIH data science initiatives underway
Trump administration set to tie Tylenol to autism risk, officials say
The Trump administration plans to tie Tylenol to autism risk while touting another drug, leucovorin, as a potential autism treatment.

Pinochet was ousted with a referendum.

And the US isn't exactly dealing with the smartest, most competent fascists.

Those of you insisting that 2025 is forever need to read a book, touch grass, go to therapy, anything other than trying to make others quit.

It’s telling that the only thing most people are interested in knowing about autism is what causes it & how to avoid it. How are #autistic people supposed to live in a world that sees us this way? As a “risk” to avoid rather than as fellow humans & community members?

Texas is shamelessly & hypocritically arguing in federal court that it's Congressional maps were drawn racially neutral WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY saying publicly that the new Texas GOP #gerrymander is necessary because multiple districts are racially discriminatory.

www.texastribune.org/2025/07/11/t...
Texas leaders have repeatedly claimed the state’s voting maps are race blind. Until the Trump DOJ disagreed.
Gov. Greg Abbott has acknowledged DOJ concerns that some districts were drawn “along strict racial lines.” Critics say it’s a political ploy.

This was a disappointing read despite initial impressions…

Although against JFK’s autism stance, it also talks about:

- autism as a disorder that needs treating
- overdiagnosis
- the benefit of dx leading to overuse of school services
- too many socially awkward people thinking they’re autistic
This people, THIS!!!

We've heard RFKJ spew on about increasing rates of childhood autism and how the cause MUST BE vaccines or toxins. But he failed to acknowledge or investigate the simplest answer: we expanded the definition of autism, leading to more diagnoses.

political press is doing a real disservice by basically not reporting the nuances of public opinion on deportations, and creating the appearance that most americans support the stephen miller-style gestapo tactics
Should we deport people who have lived here for many years without committing any crimes? 61% no, 24% yes.

Should we should deport people as quickly as possible even if it means more mistakes, or do our best to make no mistakes even if it takes longer?

Quickly: 19%
Minimize mistakes: 74%
