This is an excellent read on how global economic policy over the past century has been influenced by networks of think tanks and wealthy individuals who have defined the narrative

If I was taking a dose of aspirin daily that was well above the recommended maximum, and I bruised extensively from relatively innocuous knocks against furniture, I sure as heck wouldn’t want to have a fall and knock my head because my risk of a brain bleed would be sky high

Just saying

Splendid thread to uplift your timeline and for mental refreshment amid the ongoing everything.
It's the 3rd of January 1939, your name is professor James Smith and you are staring at a drawing of a fish. It's not a regular fish. It is a completely impossible fish.

Trump gave MAGA cultists permission to celebrate their worst instincts, character faults, bigotry, prejudices, rudeness, ignorance and selfishness in full view of everyone.

They will have no plausible deniability when the reckoning finally happens
MAGA doesn’t follow Trump because they think he’s a brilliant businessman or a tough guy. They follow him because he’s convinced mediocre, insecure people that their ignorance and stupidity are actually strengths, and that absolutely nothing is their fault. He gives them permission to be hateful.

Folks, can I tell you there is nothing sadder than having your poor wee newly diagnosed diabetic dog laying at your feet as you carve up the remaining Christmas ham in desperate hope that he may get a tasty snack

Alas, no snack for you Arlo 😢

My day so far:
Cup of coffee and fruit mince pie watching cricket (breakfast of champions)
Three loads of washing
Coffee and fruit cake
Clean out the fridge of dead leftovers
Carve the remaining ham and dispatch into containers to give to relatives
Obligatory ham on toast snack
More washing
Cricket
