I am a squirrel scout leader, so I don't necessarily have any skin in the game with girl guiding, but the news of their anti-trans policy has just made my heart sink. I don't usually interact with the news, but...

The kids are ok.

On the bus, 3 upper sixth boys fiercely arguing about whether Regina George would approve of their mates fashion sense.

Lots of mean girl love interspersed with giggles and despicable me talk.

On a scale of one to yes, how deluded am I if I think I can walk a half marathon a month next year given that I currently can't even manage a mile in one go because of my asthma flair up.

A related request, if anyone knows any nice walks of at least 13 miles hit me up.

Second day in a row I've overlaid my alarm and missed the window for a GP appt. I'm so far up the queue I don't even have a number.

Today is a 3 stop walk. Not a bad place to stop though. Even if you can see the M62

I always start to crave a long distance walk when I'm feeling rough.

Time to *persuade* @katie0.bsky.social into a 2 day walk through Sussex in May.

The WhatsApp group for the people we did our initial adoption training with has suggested a Welly walk next month, a "chance to bring the littles" and catch up.

Some of them have got an adoption order already. Others have been placed.

Just typed out a whole-ass frustrated post and it was 50 characters too long.

Bluesky just saved you all from a self-indulgent rant that no one needed.

Probably not even myself to be honest.

Anyway. Here's Manuel using my foot as a pillow.

Trying to walk a mile a day at the moment to a) get me back to work and b) stop me going stir crazy. Today's walk at Ogden Reservoir.

A lot of the time, being an adult is shit. Othertimes it's waking up at 4am on a workday which is less than ideal, and realising I can make myself a cheesy egg sandwich for breakfast.

A little treat to start my day.

Afternoon bluesky. We have put our kitchen table back together today, and now I have an inexplicable urge to make apple scones.

The kitchen is so close to being done, I can't wait.

I think the recent rubbishness I've been feeling may have been covid. Much fatigue, and now a finger of fudge tastes disgusting. (Oioi)

It's like adding insult to injury.

Oh to have the concerns of a cat.

Sent a very strongly worded (for me) email to the adoption agency regarding their lack of communication and movement.

Now sitting on bees until they respond, and really hoping that I haven't messed things up for us.

One of my pet peeves with taking medication is that they do not all line up. Some are 28 days supply, some are 30, some are 3 (ish) months.

Every once in a while they all align and then the pharm tech hands a literal sack.

Every damn time I end up on steroids I forget that they give me insomnia and take them in the evening with the rest of my meds.

And that's how I'm playing. Coral island at 4am

Had to hire a car for a few days until mine is sorted. They didn't have the one I ordered so I got a "free" upgrade to a 7 seater. The length is flummoxing me a little, I'll be honest

In brighter news, look at this church spire I climbed in Copenhagen last week. 400 steps and the last is on the outside. The Church of our saviour.

It's a weighted blanket kinda evening.

Car broken, family member has a fractured back, I've had to admit I can't keep up at work. Shitty news about the adoption and now I've realised that the unit designed to go over the meter box in the kitchen does not fit AND the roof has blown off the shed.

Bought some bras from ASDA. 3 for £16.

As soon as I got into the car I was berating myself for wasting money on bras that definitely won't fit.

They fit. For the first time in my adult life I have been able to buy some bras off the shelf from a supermarket and they fit.

I cried.

Home. Taskmaster on the telly. Tea in hand, takeaway ordered.

Just finished a free walking tour of Copenhagen. It was a great way to spend a morning.

The main take away is the number of fires that shaped the city.

Day 2 in Denmark.

Started the day with a danish and coffee. I could very much get used to this.
