Accountability thread for the week ending 01/03/2026. 4 sessions of progressive overload training, 2 top half, one bottom and one back. This week, I still have the remnants of an upper respiratory crud, so they I couldn't lift really heavy, but I have a little more energy back.

Hallucination rates for various LLMs. Still far, far too high to be trusted.
AI ready for primetime? Hallucination rates 20-30% for the best LLMs. Cembalest, JPMAM

Huge policy win right from the go.

163 lifting days in 2005. Seems about right, because I try to lift 3 times a week, with 4 times a few weeks. Doesn't count cardio and stretching days, which is sometimes another 2/week.

Heading out today, hope there's new folks. We should encourage them, help them. This can change people's lives.

+27.3% in 2025.

Falling USD in 2025, positioned accordingly, it worked. Best long positions were metals: silver, gold, palladium, platinum, lithium, steel. Spain was solid. A space ETF, ticker UFO. CAT and NEM stocks. Short USD, ORCL, CRWV.

Growth and falling inflation in Q1, be careful in Q2.

We should treat it like the GOP treats women traveling out of state for reproductive care, and bring felony charges for tax evasion.

It's 72 here right now, so the windows are open and the pets are watching their stories on the big screen.

It's a Squirrels Gone Wild marathon this afternoon.

Housekeeping for oversized positions in PMs. Peeling off fractions of silver, palladium and platinum at the open.

Working on a good year here, won't let it get away.

It's only tickers, inventory, nothing more.

Coq au vin for Christmas dinner. Haven't made it in more than 20 years, but every component so far has been really good. Crossing my fingers.

If grandpa said this shit at the dinner table, there'd be a hasty family meeting afterward to discuss nursing home options.

And I'm supposed to gave the faintest shred of respect for this oxygen thief.

Here's vintage 1995.

Got a vintage mousepad from when I worked on the Microsoft languages team.

It was a steady $100m/year product without many fixed costs. MSFT got so much out the parts of this: bitmap indexes to SQL, Rushmore optimizer to Access, client cursors to ADO and LINQ

How about we leave it the fuck alone.

Accountability thread for the week ending 12/20/2025.

Only two lifting days this week. Worked all weekend last week, all weekend this week (it'll be 15 straight days after I finish up tomorrow night), and had a pretty bad cold starting last Wednesday, but it's still embarrassing.

I've already classified a lot of shit as a problem for 2026 me.

On my 12th consecutive working day, 3 more to go.

You can imagine my mood.
December 19, 2025 at 4:10 PM
If grandpa said the same shit at the dinner table, there'd be a hasty family meeting later to discuss assisted living options.

As an idle youth, I used to drive around in the country just to know where roads went and find cool things.

Old Mill at Guilford was far to the east. In operation since 1720, Nathaniel Greene fought Cornwalis for it in 1781.

I've bought my corn products from there for 35 years now. Best grits.

Fuck how I hate to acknowledge this particular reality, but bitcoin flipped from bearish to neutral trend over a week ago and may be buyable again soon. Watch for that first higher high/higher low duet.

It's just a ticker, a unit of inventory, not a particularly vapid religion.

Accountability thread for the week ending 12/13/2025. Cardio and stretching last Sunday, 4 lifts: legs, back on Wednesday and Thursday, bookended by top half on Monday and Friday.

Working this weekend and next weekend too.

Feeling pretty strong and good.

Woof, NVDA flipped to bear trend today.

Bought a little GOOGL at the close, bottom of its range in a bull trend, will add to a full position on Monday if it's down a little.
