I think a useful public function that the media can perform in the coming weeks if Trump loses is to not pretend that his efforts to overturn democracy are in good faith, or based on real issues.
Telling the public (and elites) that this is another attempted coup, publicly and repeatedly, matters.

Registered voters are ≈48% of the population. Among registered voters, ≈70% vote.
In 2020, a mere 22.4% of the country voted for Trump.
Not "half."
