I think "love letter" gets thrown around a lot when talking about games, but Travis Strikes Again may be the most literal love letter in video games, and it's an incredibly well deserved one for indie games in general.

Bonus Wave Race 64 post, because I was reminded by a couple of people that you can ride dolphins in this game, so I am here to humbly rectify this omission.
The Pink Power Ranger racer riding a cute dolphin with the entrance to the Dolphin Park can be seen behind them. A brave dolphin jump off of some rolling waves towards a sea arch rock formation as the lens flare of the sun shines down upon the sea. The pink rider jumping off a ramp while riding a dolphin, rearing it backwards like a horsey and looking like they're both about to launch into space. Two racers riding a couple of the cutest dolphins you ever did see, passing by some jumping ramps, completely ignoring the race and just enjoying the ride.

A natural rock formation forming a sea arch over the water as the beautiful translucent waves wash over its rocky walls with the very faint wooden docks and cottages visible in the blue foggy distance. The racer with the jet ski number 2 holding on its handle bars to keep his upper body above water while his bottom half is submerged and gently floating, getting ready for the race to start. The golden sunset makes the entire ocean look like a Fanta juice, with some purple spherical buoys floating in the distance and the more alarming metal spiky mines scattered about. Just what kind of race is this?! Number 2 doing a flashy turn right as it splashes the water onto the nearby dock pillars, ducking and swooshing under some thatched roof cottages while a lone digitized blur of a person stands on the nearby wooden bridge, peeking on its side and observing the racer like the G-Man from Half-Life. The racer with jet ski nr. 22, both in garish combinations of yellow, green and purple, with the driver wearing a cow-like helmet with googly eyes and a green snoot, looking a bit annoyed as they finished in last place, probably because the player controlling them was taking screenshots the entire time. 👀

It's the nineties and there is time for JET SKIS! Two of the most garish and awesomely stylish jet skis in all the shapes and colors of the Saved by the Bell intro splashing by, with their drivers doing the bumpy, squatty balancing on the beautiful Caribbean Blue water as a friendly dolphin splashes the water as it's following them. All the colors are so bright and beautiful, it makes you wanna live there. Also, this is the image used as the banner for this BlueSky profile! As the races progress later in the day, the clouds and ocean are basking in the lovely orange shades of the sunset as two racers closely chase each other, jumping off a ramp while doing a left-tilting trick, while the racer at the back having the more preferable position so they can look at that platinum dumpy of the leading driver. One of the female racers in a white and pink outfit and jet ski, looking kinda like the Pink Ranger with her blonde hair waving under her helmet, currently doing a fancy and dangerous trick where she jumps and rotates around while holding the driving handles, like doing a gymnastics move on a pommel horse. Just a beautiful, serene sunset panorama with some docked boats and palm trees lined up, lounging and sipping a margarita as the sun sets on the horizon. Aaaah, this is the life.
