Follow-up on Etel Haxhiaj's Motion to Dismiss...the judge scheduled a hearing for November 19 to take the time to review the body-cam footage. I have not yet found out the status of Mx. Spring's motion, but probably the same.

For context, a Motion to Dismiss is an argument that the facts even if true do not describe any of the existing criminal charges, or, that there was some error of law which should result in some facts not being considered, and that the more limited facts do not describe any of the criminal charges.

I don't have an update on Councillor Hiaxhiaj's motion to dismiss. The protest was clearing out as I came outside, though.

The district court broke for a morning recess, and I have many other clients with needs, so I couldn't stick around.
Per Masslive's reporting, it wasn't clear if Spring's Motion to Dismiss was under advisement (for the judge to think about and decide) or being addressed later in some way.

Etel Haxhiaj, a Worcester city councillor, and Ashley Spring, a resident, both have Motions to Dismiss scheduled for today. They have criminal charges arising from the May 2025 incident where Worcester police used excessive force to protect an ICE abduction, and the community intervened.

Here's my small stupid of the month (welcome me to the club!). I did not realize that my increasing cholesterol is as much a result of my aging flesh-sack as osteoarthritis is.
I can stop flagellating myself now, TYVM, and maybe release some of my resentment at past-Steve for not eating so well.
