I like bugs and working with animals. Sometimes I remember that I can draw and paint.

read online that someone set-up a premium rate phone number where callers get charged $3.99/ min. then they posted flyers in their neighborhood that said "call this number to report illegal aliens," but the number just puts them on hold with music. so far, they've made $17,000

Missoula has GOT to host a cat show with a pet category so that I can enter Kipper in it. He’s such a beautiful, gentle idiot, I think he’d sweep.

Biology class, Freshman year, my teacher lectured that only animals have bones, and one girl actually yelled “Nuh-uh!” He asked what non-animal she thought had bones and she said, “Carrots. They have that middle part.”

Never saw a teacher grapple with anguish and violence like that since.
Learned about "vegan drumsticks" tonight, which feature a "vegan bone". Internet search has revealed the bone to be typically made out of sugarcane or lemongrass. As evocative as the idea of "vegan bones" is, I am currently more compelled by the larger implication of meatless animals.

This was kind of experimental but oh my god it turned out so tasty. Made it extra spicy to try to finally beat this lingering congestion.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

ICE murdered Renée Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives.

We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.

I’m in a FB group for polymer clay artists - a medium I’ve worked in since I was in elementary school, so I know a thing or two about it - and every time I check it somebody is doing something dangerous with it in an entirely novel way that I can’t even wrap my mind around.

Telling everyone about my induction date (2/18) because if there’s one thing I know about kids, this all but guarantees he’ll come even earlier just to fuck with me.

Been playing my old Nintendo 3DS, and suddenly felt very wistful and sad. The little green light in the corner is never gonna come on again. I miss StreetPass so much.

My kid asked if he was old enough to watch Princess Mononoke and we said yeah, sure. Let us know if anything really bothers you.

He laughed his ass off when Ashitaka shot off the arms and head of those samurai. Time to update my movie list for him.

All of my financial security revolves around the serendipitous reblogging of the Money Cat and other derivative “money creatures” on Tumblr, and so far this is working out better than the stock market.
