Instead of making phone calls at work I made this in 2021 and it’s just been an evergreen meme.

Kipper was born under a shed to a mother of hundreds right before she was finally captured and spayed. He acts like he thinks he’s speaking to humans via constant garbled yowls, lets me pick him up from any direction, and loves belly rubs. He’s so strange, and I love him.

Spud came out of a barn full of extremely inbred seal-point cats, which the local shelter had been trying to sterilize for years but the owner kept chasing them away with a shotgun (lol Montana.) She brings them a box full of kittens twice a year or so. He’s rad as hell.

I moved my jumping spider, Scribble, to a different terrarium, and he’s been busy spinning a new hammock in the corner. It’s amazing to watch him stop, calculate, and perfect it as he goes.

Closer look at his face, which was a little shadowed in the final picture previously.

I can finally post this now: I felted a memorial figure for my friend’s dog Akira, who was a beloved attendee of our bimonthly game nights. My husband brushed him out at our house a couple of weeks before he passed, so all of the black detailing is done with the actual hair of the dog.

A brief look at a parting gift.

This year has been so full of goodbyes. I’m trying to accept them all with grace.

I’m feeling good about this one. As much as I love bugs, arthropod features have always been a challenge for me in any medium.
