NEW: Footage of a US citizen in Chicago being rammed then dragged from her car on her way to work.

Abducted, with no warrant, her family couldn’t find her for hours.

She was later released with NO CHARGE.

A DHS statement said she “violently resisted arrest, injuring two officers”.

This and the SWIP-N news are really bad news for Nevada. Nevada is well on its way from an energy desert to an energy powerhouse and crossroads for the entire West. These actions are throwing a wrench in this massive economic opportunity. It's energy surrender.
This just in: The Esmeralda 7 Solar Project — which would have generated a gargantuan 6.2 gigawatts of power — has been canceled, the BLM says.

They said it couldn't be done, but now it's happening. A trusted Western governance structure can support a whole range of energy market services, from markets to planning to BAs. Lower cost, more reliability. For the West, by the West. www.utilitydive.com/news/a-la-ca...
Á la carte energy market will give Western states choice, flexibility and reliability
The new Regional Organization for Western Energy will offer affordable, reliable energy services, and states can take what they need, writes Advanced Energy United’s Brian Turner.

Want to reduce electricity bills 20% by 2030?

Release the data! We have over 37GW of batteries, water heaters, etc that can participate in demand flexibilty. But without data access they can't bid into the PJM/MISO capacity auction to bring down costs.
Smart meters were all the rage in 2009 (aka Advanced Metering Infrastructure, AMI) and even then most of us knew they were unlikely to bring any real benefits for residential customers. Little did we know that Utilities using rickety Oracle and SAP systems would create a crisis. 🧵

Lemme spell it out. Trump's only leverage over Jimmy Kimmel and ABC came from FCC regulation. His direct power over H1-B visas gives him similar leverage over tech, higher ed, and others.
Critical part of the President's new $100,000 charge for H1-B visas: The Administration can also offer a $100,000 discount to any person, company, or industry that it wants. Replacing rules with arbitrary discretion.

Want visas? You know who to call and who to flatter.

I know there's a lot going on right now, but NYMEX natural gas futures for January are $5/MMBtu. This is going to mean price increases for electricity for Americans, and is the worst possible time to be slowing down wind and solar deployment by taking away tax credits.

This is a great article. I can think several other uses for the money that would provide real incremental emission reductions. Top of mind would be fuel shift credits to help EV and heat pump adoption paired w/ load management so they're using clean electricity.

And don't even get me started on Basic Econ. The exceptions overwhelm, even invalidate, the rule.

People constantly citing to "Econ 101" as if it's a good thing.

No, you're trying to drive a mock-up as a real vehicle, and amazed when the steering doesn't work.
Circuits 1 teaches you to neglect coupling between wires.

If you're pushing policy decisions based on science you learned in high school or even your early college years, you're stupid or ignoring reality deliberately
Speaking as someone who used to teach, "Basic Biology" is almost entirely convenient lies to tell children that get them ready to understand it properly in further education.
"Basic physics" is that planes attain lift because the air takes longer to go over the wing than under it.
