Bread for all and roses, too.
Tired of Ilia Malinin winning competitions by stringing quads together with the most perfunctory gesture at choreography, while skaters like Shun Sato deliver breathtaking performances that balance both the technical and artistic sides of the sport only to lose.

Americans tend to only be aware of the British royal Family. But if you’re a person who loves gawking at celebrity mess and you’re not paying attention to the Norwegians and their slow-motion car crash of a Royal Family you’re missing out.

If you didn’t know Will was talking about ICE you’d think this was about drug cartels or something.
I know we aren’t all fans of the police here but the difference between this and an ordinary police arrest or detainment is night and day. There’s no “You’re under arrest” and then sitting in the car while they ask questions. You are simply disappeared in seconds. No record of what happened.

Worth noting that Episcopal bishops are elected by the members of their diocese, not appointed by a pope or king. That means that the historically extremely conservative people of the diocese of Dallas deliberately chose Bishop Price to be their leader.

Once again, allow me to invite you to behold the utterly abject poverty of the Very Serious Pundits' & Democratic Senators’ argument that it is <checks notes> The Democrats who are the ones who Talk Funny, are not Moderate™️ enough, & have fallen out of touch with Real Folkz in America.

This is also now more or less the policy of this government in re: the sovereign territory of every other country in the Western Hemisphere. The authoritarianism at home and abroad are of a single piece.
it is the policy of this government to treat democratic-led states as conquered territories and the people therein as something like hostiles or even enemy combatants

Among the many questions I have about this: did Robin Hood go and steal Genghis Khan’s bow? That is NOT a longbow.

I’m watching the Empty Netters commentary series on Heated Rivalry, and I can’t figure out if Chris Powers is having a latent bisexual awakening?

This is what The Onion would write as a fake Schumer quote. What is this fool doing?! The Senate democrats need new leadership.
Schumer: "It makes you think that maybe to Trump he wants to distract the American people, as he always does, from the skyrocketing costs they are facing, from the Epstein files."

We had to book a hotel room last year on a couple hours notice because a contractor accidentally punched through the main waterline to our house and we had no running water. I cannot imagine how much more stressful it would have been if hotels were actively screening us out for being locals.
Since some people have questioned whether this really happened—or whether such a policy actually exists—here's an auto-generated transcript (with errors) from the voicemail canceling our reservation, and a sign posted next to the front desk when we arrived.

There’s something delightful about The Economist celebrating Jane Austen’s 250th birthday by writing an essay about how good at economics she was.

Truly begging people to stop using capitalism as a synonym for commerce. Exchange of money for goods and services is not capitalism.

Unless you’re going to do a Marxist analysis, you can just say consumerism or commercialism if you want to talk about people buying things.

Thinking about FD Signifier’s aside in his most recent video about how anti-capitalist and anti-establishment musicians and genres, especially those popular with (white) men, have been deliberately minimized and subsumed by the music industry.
My favorite thing about culture is when artists who seem new and dangerous wind up decades later performing to universal cheers on the teenage mutant ninja turtles float at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
