Born 22 Jan 1940, actor John Hurt. He starred in the film "Elephant Man" portraying John Merrick, a severely deformed man in late 19th-century London. The film also starred Anthony Hopkins and was directed by David Lynch. It won BAFTAs for Best Film, Best Actor & Best Production. #JohnHurt
