The fact that nothing is being done about this — and that people keep blithely hanging out on that site as though its owner and a key part of its official architecture aren’t actively enabling disgusting criminal abuse at scale — is making me lose my mind
Every piece of reporting I've seen on this is drastically understating the scale. These are from Grok's replies within a single minute. Time-to-reply is degrading because it has such a backlog of NCII/CSAM requests to fulfill. Conservatively I estimate it is producing more than 5000 of these per day

-Lynne Ramsay's latest aka "a woman under the influence of A Woman Under the Influence"
-A lively kids sequel

My favorite films of 2025:

Sinners
Sentimental Value
Reflection in a Dead Diamond
If I Had Legs I'd Kick You

2025 films I've not had a chance to see:

The Testament of Ann Lee
Resurrection
The Secret Agent
It Was Just An Accident

One thing to remember about these people is that they've likely never once taken an active interest in the day-to-day of parenting a child. The admin of dealing with daycare--including the opsec aspect--is very much foreign to them.
uhhh yeah I can see why these childcare properties weren't eager to let in some rando dudes asking "where are the kids?"

I took my kid to see Zootropolis 2 (titled Zootopia 2 in some markets). I wasn't a big fan of the first one and this did seem like a step down, but I have to admit I enjoyed the Kubrick reference near the end.

Just started watching The Studio and it's pretty good but sometimes leans a bit too much on cringe comedy for my liking. Scorsese's cameo in the first ep is great, though. I lost it when he pitched his film.

Stellan Skarsgård in Sentimental Value is as good as everyone says. There's a moment later in the film when you *see* the years settle on him. He ages decades before your eyes. It's incredible.

Believe it or not, it's #LetterboxdFriday

My last #LastFourWatched have been a real mixed bag. Two new releases - one among the year's best, one a bit of a dud. An outstanding experimental short by Nicolas Provost, and a seasonal stinker.

Pretty strong week. Some real classics here.

Apple TV has a terrible user interface in general, but I do really like how it temporarily switches on subtitles when you rewind.

Really enjoyed Pluribus this week. Not only was it wonderful to look at, but Manousos's anti-colonialism gave me hope that some of the issues raised in episode 2 will finally be explored more fully.

It's #LetterboxdFriday - here's my #LastFourWatched

A recent PTA and three new releases. All entertaining, but nothing spectacular.

Planning to watch The Mastermind tonight as it's just come to Mubi.

My favorite music of the year was a late contender: Grace Ives - Singles (a three track EP). It's headphones-on, wall-of-sound style power-pop, and it's incredible. I can't stop listening to it.

Reflection In A Dead Diamond (Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani) is out TODAY on Shudder in the UK/US. Everyone should watch it, it's a blast. Kind of a meta-fictional take of Bond and 1960s Eurospy movies.

WHO COULD IT BE??

(minor spoilers for Pluribus)

It's #LetterboxdFriday! Here's my #LastFourWatched:

Two excellent new releases, and one that was not quite as great. Plus an interesting-but-flawed adaptation of an Umberto Eco novel.
