you state "A Universal Basic Income for everyone, as some are pushing, is going too far". Why do you think that?

I trials of a UBI in Canada, it was found beneficial on health costs alone.
Productivity and tax strategy can't ignore the impact of AI and robots
The economic reform round table set down for August will talk about tax reform but a strategy for the future of artificial intelligence and robots should be part of the conversation.

@lenoret.bsky.social I was a little surprised to see this article on The Guardian:

The LNP are attempting to replace two women with blokes. I am not so sure this will be possible. I think the following explains why:

Can the teal appeal hold? Liberals targeting Curtin and Goldstein argue independent wave has passed
Inner-city independents took six seats from the Liberals in 2022, but some drivers of that success no longer apply. At least two are vulnerable – but a new one could also be in play

I can recall @simonahac.bsky.social objecting to being called a billionaire. Is this a false flag operation?

This is a great article and is well timed. Discusses most of the issues of concerned by our generation: www.brisbanetimes.com.au/politics/fed...
I’ve spent my life fighting nuclear. Here’s what Dutton isn’t telling you about his reactors
This deceptive proposal has all the Trumpian hallmarks: a quasi policy announcement intended to serve sectional interests – in this case fossil fuel giants.

I have an ex-guide dog. He was kicked out because he didn't have the right temperament. It is sometimes a real chore to walk with him, but in a cafe he is perfect. Cannot imagine that a real guide dog would be a problem.

Here’s what ‘deep listening’ can tell us about the natural world and our place in it
