It's getting to the point where I'm no fun any more. I am sorry.

Dad / professional geek / theater kid / New York sports fan.

I am not entirely sure if I am enjoying Pluribus but if I have to hear the answering machine message one more time I may do something drastic.

Watching Stranger Things:

Wife: so what’s the difference between a wizard and a sorcerer?

Me: do you really want to know?

Wife: (sighs)

Anecdotally:

I regularly drive from Westchester to New Jersey for work.

More often than not, my mapping app attempts to route me through Manhattan as the fastest route.

If that's not evidence that congestion pricing is working...
Year 1 data on congestion pricing in Manhattan…

* Vehicle traffic: -11%
* Foot traffic: +3.4%
* Storefront vacancy: -0.9%
* Pollution: -22%
* Revenue for mass transit: $548M

So YES this has been a huge success.

"The Knicks just have to play it even while the starters on the floor and then win the Tyler Kolek minutes" is not a theme I was expecting this season.

Have the David Ayer version of Suicide Squad on in the background and I am still legitimately shocked at how badly they whiffed on this movie.

(Of course, same could be said of most of the pre-James Gunn DC movies.)

What in the name of Clyde Frazier’s sport coat collection is Wally Szczerbiak wearing right now?

The utter hideousness of this gesture aside...

Could they not match the fucking typeface?

Elise Stefanik and Cardinal Dolan on the same day.

Christmas came early in New York.

You can say "we don't win this shit" when it's on Amazon, right?

Imagine Thibs riding the hot hand of his ninth man in a big game and leaving Bridges on the bench.

(Assuming, of course, that Bridges isn't hurt.)

The Tyler Kolek game.

Josh Hart wants it more than you do.

Kolek was about to tie him up and then backed away and let Towns do it.

Sneaky smart play.

Swipa, no swiping.

Knicks seem to be winning a lot of the "weird lineup" minutes.

Kolek / Clarkson / Brunson together?

Robinson plays so well when teams don't hack-a-Mitch... you almost wonder why they aren't putting him on the line more.

Driving the kid home for Christmas break and decided to let her play DJ instead of listening to the Jets.

Didn't even see the final score until hours after the fact.

I feel like I've happened upon the optimal way to experience Jets football.

We need to change the conversation about taxes in this country.

It shouldn't only be about how much you're paying and who's paying more or less than you.

It should be about what you're actually getting for your money.

Would I be OK with paying a bit more in taxes and not having to keep a job I hate because that's how my family gets health care?

Yes. I think I would.
R U ok with paying 8 to 12 pct more in taxes and possibly losing your standard deduction ?

R U ok with losing access to different curative medications and care because the government can't afford to pay for them, even after taxing all the billionaires 90 pct?

Sometimes I feel like @schumer.senate.gov is strategically allowing Team Trump to make things worse for all of us because he honestly believes this will lead to some sort of groundswell of support for the Dems.

As if nobody will also hold HIM accountable for his role in all of this.

The entire plot of The Lord of the Rings sort of hinges on one character being sort of a dumbass...

And I can't help but wonder how many times in human history that actual wars have been won or lost for similar reasons.

I'm not one who sees much point in making charitable donations to a college or university under the best of circumstances...

But it feels especially aggressive to be soliciting donations from people who are actively paying massive sums in tuition.
