A bit about me: I’m a 2024 graduate in meteorology & also geography. I’m in the middle of the applications process for both graduate school and the National Weather Service.. we’ll see which one works out first!

Feeling defeated today. Trump’s executive orders have obviously taken a massive hit to my field… my NWS application was tossed, summer internships I was applying for evaporated, and now I’m not even sure if I can obtain an assistantship for graduate school. I hate this timeline.

Euro needs to go take its meds for real, but seeing over a foot of snow for the first time is a nice thought.

But the fact that multiple ensembles are signaling this far out may mean another snow event for us in Georgia soon… not likely a foot… but snow nonetheless.

SPC just released a moderate risk AND 15% hatched area in Louisiana and southern Mississippi… haven’t seen reds on the convective outlook in a hot minute. 😬

+3°C sea surface temperature anomalies in Helene’s path contributed to around 20% more moisture than what would have been with climatologically average sea surface temps.

All of that moisture wrung out with orographic lift & frontal interactions was just… yikes. WNC is still in shambles 🙁
