Composer, guitarist, and producer since the before the dawn of the internet, when a cassette-based 4-track was the height of bedroom studio fashion recording. He/him in the US Pacific Northwest. http://worldbri.com/links/

A million* SoCal folks had heard my voice at a prominent large-format film theatre before my guitar licks became famous to Game Sack fans.

From rock to relaxation, metal to meditation, symphony to synthesizer, soundtracks to soundscapes, I love to craft music!—want to work with me?

*I did the math
As a fan of the first two SimCity games, which I played the crap out of in the 90s, I have FINALLY gotten around to checking out RollerCoaster Tycoon ("Classic" on Switch). My only disappointment is that I was precisely 100% correct in anticipating how much of a time sink it would be. Addicted! 🤘😎

Do any other guitar players get an itch and indulge in a bass guitar phase, every now and then? Can't be just me! I own a decent one that's fun to break out, when I do, and for the last few nights I've been practicing. Last night something clicked. So looking forward to recording some grooves soon!

If you had fun making it, your audience—and in turn, art directors and prospective clients—will have fun looking at it. 🎨 ✍️

In realizing that I was able to complete a good dozen tracks over the course of about 5 months, last year, I'm newly inspired to kick some new recordings and mixes into gear. Call it a resolution, but I think I can get my next album (or 2) further along at a hyped pace. Good things coming this year!

As a musician with ZERO desire to "perform", I'm on this side of the social battle—my face and personality aren't the work. I don't seek fans or followers of "me". The charisma, say, to shill myself on Tiktok is astronomically unrelated to my skills, talent, or job prospects. Sorry, record labels. 🤷‍♂️
“I have no professional interest in people looking at my face” is, not to be dramatic about it or anything, an idea for which I am willing to live and die
and god I mean, more broadly - I resent this idea that someone has to look at me to follow what I'm saying, I like writing and I like talking on the radio and on podcasts, I have no professional interest in people looking at my face, leave me alone

Why can't we just have a place in society for little gremlin people who can't do anything "useful" (profitable for business owners)? Why do people with weird, creative brains have to die young just because we can't fall in line??? Why can't people just agree to take care of us and let us live.

Hot take for modern television music composers … arranging the "theme song" on a loop at every possible opportunity ≠ effective, dramatic leitmotif

We've HEARD the title theme! Sure, great melody ya got there! Feel free to develop it, maybe? Reharmonize it, ever? Introduce a countermelody, perhaps?

Niche lifehack, but here's something to try—do you get those Best Buy Reward Zone points offers, where you've earned the points but they expire? Use them to pre-order a vinyl record! When its release day comes and goes, in 14 days they'll refund your points, and THOSE won't expire!

Like a charm. 🫤

Approved! The new album should be hitting the streaming places soon, for those of you who do the playlist thing or like your music "wrapped" or whatever.

What is it with audio mixing engineers and "saturation"!? Apparently it's this magic sauce that should warm up, thicken, and glue together your mix. Yet each time I attempt to apply some—I don't know, maybe it's the genres I work in?—it just adds gross crackling crispy junk, like I used bad cables.

The "doom" in doomscrolling for me is often less about tone or mood of information I skim—rather it's the draining energy required to parse context in reverse.

What does that post mean? Check the quote, which replies to a middle post in some thread, addressing another quote, of a dunk, on a link. 🤷‍♂️

A couple complimentary download codes for my new album, exclusive to whoever first claims them. I know people don't download their music much anymore, but you can't beat the deal of free. So the offer balances out. ;)

One huge benefit to being a small independent artist is being able drop a new album, and still have the luxury of tweaking final mixes and doing a mastering revision, long after the release date. And not worrying that anyone could even notice.

Which is to say, it's never too late for a first listen!

And once more, for Bandcamp Friday, here's my new album and an excellent opportunity to be supportive, if you in any way dig what I do! Being instrumental, this record is an excellent experience to accompany almost any activity you can think of, I'll bet.

New album, hot off the digital goods press! 62 minutes of instrumental vibes. Lots of delicious guitar, a hearty helping of MIDI orchestral sequencing, and more synthesizer than you thought you could stomach in a single sitting.

I've been lucky these past months, getting the opportunity to compose various music styles for the @gamesack.net EGM documentary Pixels to Pages, coming Wednesday—I contributed 42 minutes of original tunes!

Can't wait to see it all put together in this compelling account from a classic gaming era!

I composed 42 minutes of music for a documentary that's going up THIS WEEK! Who has nostalgia for video-game related print media from the 90s?
Well, that's a wrap!

Fellow musicians and producers, how are you enjoying the free plugin season so far? How many installer/authorization programs have you downloaded this year to redeem them, or do you already have accounts to them all?!

I have to keep myself modest each year, for one day they may all have me! 🫣

When I think about one day needing to replace my computer, the laptop running all my production software and basically nothing else, I depress myself envisioning that it may have to be some omni-AI "talk to it like a companion" computer. I can't NOT see only OBSTACLES to composing music. 😑

What have I been up to, project-wise? Diligently composing score work for an upcoming thing I'm ecstatic to be contributing to!

Also, this music will be on my next album, a full-length instrumental panoply of themes & accompaniment from the last few years entitled Under Score XP. Cover art pending!
