Hello! 👋

I'm Brigitta and I'm an author-illustrator, comic artist, and video game tech artist. My debut graphic novel CRAMMING comes out in 2027. Excited to be here and meet other #Kidlit people!

When my graphic novel is done, I'm excited to make my first manga zine and experiment with screen tones. I always had an affinity to limited color palettes, so it will be nice to go back to my roots and learn more about a medium I grew up reading. 🌳

You know you're in the coloring stage of comics when you take photos of scenes you like the color palette for wherever you go. 🎨

Thankful for horror movies so I can use them as reference for a rainy night car scene 💙

One of the most important things you can do for a project is take breaks. It resets your brain so you can come back to it from a fresh perspective.

This is a doc I wrote featuring tips and tricks for how to make a better art portfolio site. Feel free to share with anyone who may find this useful <3 #art

A friendly reminder that you can set reference layers to multiple layers, folders, and layers/folders simultaneously in Clip Studio Paint!

For my books, I map out every day on a calendar that a scene takes place.

Never did I think that choosing a year that has Valentine's on the weekend would complicate my timeline. 🤦‍♀️

"Treat your body with the care you treat your artwork."

Haven't been able to get this out of my head since hearing it. Time to put those words into action ❤️

Made myself a little color palette picker for my graphic novel! 🎨

At first, I used CSP's built-in color palette, but I found this method much faster. Plus, it automatically converts my tool into a color picker when I tap inside the sub view!

If you're printing a comic with color, make sure to work in CMYK mode! I made the mistake of coloring in RGB and soon discovered some of the colors I used looked dull when converted for printing.

Clip Studio now allows you to preview your work and color wheel in CMYK mode. It's so handy! 🎨

Just remembered one of my former students asking me:
Him: "Are you a tomboy?"
Me: "Yup!"
Him: "Wooooaaaah, cool."

247 inked pages of my graphic novel done! 🎊
Now, off to do a Substack recap and on to colors.

Less than 20 inked pages of my graphic novel left!! So excited to start color ❤️ Still in disbelief that I drew over 220 pages.

Highly recommend this book for any artist that wants to create comics/manga!

It's called "All Faces" and includes 24,908 faces from One Piece panels. It's a great study tool to see character faces at different scales or as inspiration for expressions.
