Well, the specs have been released on the Zeekr 7X!
It starts at $57,990 AUD, is loaded with tech (including V2L) and charges in 13 minutes! And that's just the entry level one!
Video coming tomorrow with estimated NZD prices. Should be good. 😁

Electric vehicles are now under the magnifying glass of the Real World Testing Program, which aims to give drivers more understanding of how much fuel their cars actually use – or in the case of #EVs, how much range they actually offer.
Electric cars under spotlight in real world range tests | News | Open Road | The NRMA
EVs tested in Australia’s Real World Testing Program show less range than advertised, while hybrids and utes exceed fuel use and emissions standards in real-world driving.

Honda has promised an EV in 2026 - the most likely candidate is the e:Ny1. Another mid-sized SUV - what do you think?

Well, would you?
Would you buy a Cut price Tesla Model Y if it became available in Australia? same Model Y, just less features, like, no glass roof etc, and starting from $40K in OZ, (if it comes)?

Oh it’s been a while! A bit of a fun write up of Jaunt’s electric Moke

Like a jolt from the past, literally: this converted Mini Moke turns heads and ditches petrol for plugging in.

Most nickel is used for stainless steel. According to this chart, 15% is used for batteries. An estimated 80% of that is used for EVs, so about 12%. (LFP not inc in nickel share here is about half that of EVs with nickel chem) - links to follow

Last week I got to take the Kia EV3 compact electric SUV for a drive around the Gold Coast hinterland. First review I've done in a little while. Nice little car!

It chooses the shortest range EV on the market 😅 by default… also appears hybrid drivers do not need to stop at all on 9.5 hour drive

Odd little vehicle range comparison from Choice that claims electric cars can only drive 222km on the highway, without being transparent about which model they’ve used. You can only choose the petrol vehicle

V2L is shaping up as a point of difference for plug-in hybrids, and with bigger batteries than an early Leaf, also provide a large power source

Oc, PHEVs need regular charging to achieve promised fuel efficiency - and they're not always a cheaper choice than BEVs

Very concerned for my wife, Judy, she’s in Brisbane while I’m in Sydney for Everything Electric However, she does have a BYD Atto 3 with V2H which is charged up and plugged in. 🙏🤞🤞🤞❤️
Our thoughts are with those in the Sunny Coast, Byron Bay and greater Brisbane areas who are preparing for a once in 50 year tropical cyclone event Friday morning.

If you have an EV that has a V2L option, ensure it is fully charged. V2L can run fridges, freezers, lights, TVs, CONT:

In case you didn't know, when you buy a car, you leave it idle for between 90 and 95% of the time you own it.
I wonder if there could be a use for a car when it's not being driven?
A petrol/diesel car? Nope, you're stuffed mate.
And electric car? Let's have a look.

(This is in TWh of energy - not capacity - and nuclear would flatline if the vertical axis was percentage of electricity.)
