Not mentioned often enough in this debate: Any form of required voter identification that costs money to obtain (driver’s license, even a debit card) is tantamount to a poll tax.
Too many people agreeing w me so: My position for years has been that voter ID requirements are fine so long as they're forgiving (oops, I forgot my ID but here is a debt card with my name on it), when they're unforgiving it's because they're being designed to depress low-propensity Dem voters.

We were walking down Ventura Blvd. and saw a woman approaching in a very distinctive hat. The hat was noticeable from several blocks away. As the woman grew nearer, I realized she was Linda Perry from 4 Non Blondes, and this is the hat she was wearing.
