Outside of revelation, seems like the church is subject to the same insights and blind spots as the rest of us that live in history at a particular time and place. Just because the church has a position on something doesn’t mean it’s the correct position.

I don’t think every instance of deportation is unjust, but when Veritatis Splendor includes deportation on its list of intrinsic evils, it surely has what Trump wants to do in mind.

Pharisees have inverted priorities. Like thinking nothing of justifying the nuclear annihilation of entire cities, but worrying about vulgarity in language. Or crapping on the poor while wondering if a smart phone is sacred enough to use for praying.

A well formed conscience is a conscience formed by participation in the church’s life, not necessarily one conformed to every church teaching.

If the bishops want synodality, why don't they come to where the people are (like these social media platforms) instead of creating bureaucratic processes that they themselves can control and filter?

Does the Church owe us clarity? When the apostles said "where could we go, you have the words of eternal life" after everyone else walked away, they weren't any less confused about what Jesus' words meant. They stayed because of certainty, but they certainly did not have clarity.
