Old enough to have had the grand tour of AI in the Seventies and I'm still writing Lisp for fun and profit. Proud to live in a blue state but feeling blue about the recent election. We will get through this poorly written screen play...

The lack of skepticism really makes Trumpism possible—the pride in accepting hierarchies and ridiculousness.

Another good local news piece on the real-life impacts of Trump's misguided policies.

"political considerations are now guiding science and scientific research, erasing years of effort and thwarting potential cures and the chance at future breakthrough treatments."

I grew up in the DC area. I played trumpet. The best music teacher I had was in the Marine Band. He taught to pass it on to local high school students. I'm sure that others did the same. That was 56 years ago. To see this both saddens me but makes me appreciate those retired from military bands.

Well, if we now have and official language, I feel that we should also have an official font. For my Non-executive Order, I designate Comic Sans. (When appearing on computers it should be pink-blink.)

We got it all today. Snow, sleet, freezing rain, rain.

I just finished moving it around using my 1991 GMC 3/4-ton truck.

Mantra for the day is:

"Plow with the storm. Don't break the curl. Chains, chains, chains!"

After it freezes solid, we'll get a 1/4-mile toboggan run to the street.

OK. I've been lurking here for a few months now. I've been on that other platform for years with very few posts and very few followers. I'm ending my financial support of it and there is very little I will miss.

I can write few posts here and have few followers here and still be quite happy.
