First congress has to cave (and I’ve done that) next the courts and have cave (and they will soon) and then I’ll wait to see if the people rise up.
WATCH: Schumer says "our democracy will be at stake" if Trump disobeys the Supreme Court—but "we're not there yet."

This isn’t going to end until the people stand up and force it to end. This CR is just about delaying the inevitable.
A shutdown would give Donald Trump and Elon Musk carte blanche to destroy vital government services at a significantly faster rate than they can right now.

Sleepwalking towards a World War.
Russian propagandist Solovyev has his own ideas on what Russia and the US should negotiate.

"Why not create a military coalition between Russia&America and divide Europe?Who needs it? I think it's a great idea. We'll set up our bases, without a hitch, at the usual points -Berlin, Paris, as in 1814.

A fun thing to do with this supposed Napoleon quote is to do a google search to see what forums it appeared on with this exact wording before 2022. I'm no computer whiz, so maybe I messed up, but the only hits I got were these two...for Stormfront, a neo-Nazi forum.

So, Trump wants to surrender to Russia, but we aren’t actually at war with Russia?

I don’t understand.

How could this happen?

Wait, is he volunteering to go first?
"It'd be a great deterrent" -- Trump says he wants "hardened criminals" who are US citizens to be sent to other countries for imprisonment

The reporter clearly doesn’t understand the power of copious amounts of daily ketamine use over a period of years.
REPORTER: What expertise does Elon Musk have in the areas of global health or humanitarian aid to assess what's happening at USAID?

LEAVITT: He's a once in a generation business leader. And I think Elon Musk has a little bit of common sense.

So Trump got Mexico to agree to reduce the number of troops on their border?
Any news outlet reporting Mexico conceded anything to Trump to get him to delay tariffs has not done its homework.
Trump boasts he got Mexico to commit to stationing 10K troops at our border. Apparently he didn't realize Mexico already has 15K troops deployed there

Elon Musk seems willing to break up the US-European alliance in order to steal rare earth minerals from Greenland.
"Five current and former senior European officials briefed on the call said the conversation had gone very badly. 'The intent was very clear. They want it. The Danes are now in crisis mode.'"

This is a strong observation.

The news media’s disinterest in the Thomas’s I think has to do with the fact that they are unsexy and exhausting. This is the wrong standard for news worthiness.
The fact that I know more about Fani Willis’ and Nathan Wade’s relationship than I do about the crimes committed by Ginni Thomas and Clarence Thomas shows exactly what is terribly wrong with today’s political mainstream media.

Seems like this should be the biggest story of the week.
Call me crazy, but I think Justin Sun, a Chinese national being prosecuted for fraud by the SEC, sending Trump $18 million should be a bigger story

The direct enrichment of Trump by a foreign national weeks before he takes office has merited no coverage in the NYT or Washington Post
A Chinese national, charged with fraud by the SEC, just sent Donald Trump $18 million
Chinese Crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun paid $6.2 million for a banana — sold by Sotheby's as conceptual art — and then ate it last Friday.

Lots of people have pet cams and nanny cams inside their homes, perhaps the state should have some there too.
I missed this part of the story. Pretty convenient how pervasive surveillance is used to justify ubiquitous surveillance.

“The federal court’s decision says that video cameras have become ‘ubiquitous,’ and have therefore diminished our expectations of privacy.”
The Feds Can Film Your Front Porch for 68 Days Without a Warrant, Says Court
A federal court says your privacy is diminished due to the proliferation of video cameras throughout society.
