🌱some fall color and vibes around the yard today
A Martha Washington geranium is turning several fall colors - greens, reds, and browns. The pointed leaves make for interesting interplay. Some yellow leaves from a shrub serve as backdrop to blackened seed clusters that developed from the white flowers of summer. Pink gaura blossoms have endured nearly to November. Red stalks give way to delicate pink flowers. Green grass littered with leaves are the backdrop. From the back yard, the Beartooth mountains are visible under gray overcast. Red leaves from vines, yellow and green osiers and small trees color the foreground.

The White House survived an attempt to burn it by British troops during the war of 1812.
But it appears this elegant classical structure will not survive Trump intact.

🌱Found some fall color today.
A late-blooming peach rose is open wide. Next to its deep green leaves, a dark coral bud preps for a last hurrah to the season. A closeup of the rosebud in blushing peach. I got to see Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson live last night. Dylan started his set with "Masters of War." Willie's set was introduced by this video. They both hit hard.

Feeling like fall is just a few days away now.
A mushroom, looking like a little egg, balances on a stem just above the green grass. I actually mowed around the beauty. A red mini rose faces the sun surrounded by 2 red buds ready to open. Large dark green Ancho chilies hang from sturdy stems. These will be ready to make into rellenos in a few days. A bright wild sunflower shines like the sun, and several other volunteer sunflowers bloom in the background. I always get numerous volunteers.

Some visitors to the garden.
A T Rex prowls around the ferns. A fall field cricket in the rocks, fleeing my watering hose. Buddha sits quietly beneath the tree, in the cool fronds of the hosta. A praying mantis on the wall trim. His antennae and keen eyes look around for a snack. Long slender limbs bend unexpectedly.

A few pix from this morning’s garden stroll.
A few pinkish asters are now in bloom. Light green leaves in a small mound topped with a multi-petalled flower cluster. A mini red rose blossom prepares to unfurl. Spiky sepals surround the bloom pointing in four directions. Small round buds wrapped in light green leaves gather at the foot of the rose, ripening. A few sedum flowers of tiny pink clusters with broad waxy leaves of a succulent below. A picture of the deck flowers on a bench. Red begonias, yellow bells, purple petunias. Basil gone wild, green and purple sage. A cherry tomato.
