Yesterday I was back in the same hospital and unit where I had my diagnosis and all my chemo. It was the first time for a very long time. I had butterflies and my eye started twitching in the waiting room. But I also felt grateful. I wasn't at all sure I'd make it this far, but there I was. #cansky

Anyone working on an art project at the moment (whether #breastcancer related or not)? I'm trying to make time for my hobbies so have started a new wildlife drawing. I'm half way through a bear! 🐻

(Memorry of her op with surgical socks!)
I found it a weird and curious concept going under. The "missing hours". For some it feels terrifying. However you feel, it involves a whole lot of trust

I'm increasingly seeing artwork in hospitals, uplifting those long clinic walls which are too often quite depressing, and long may it continue.

Thank you Paintings in Hospitals @paintingshospitals.bsky.social for helping to bring this to UK hospitals and care settings

"dance hard,
dance fierce, until they become tumbling dust
and nothing is left
but a drumbeat"
(Excerpt from Lucy Heuschen's poem)
I love this! Mine was samba. I took it up after active treatment for #breastcancer It gave me joy, freedom, feminity, carnival. Dance is art, dance is healing💃 #cansky
Hi, #ZumbaFamily on Bluesky! This is the poem I am probably the most proud of writing - When Huitaca Dances. It's about the deep joy of dancing a Zumba class for the first time after completing active treatment for #BreastCancer. My #ZIN made me a playlist to get me through chemo 💖 #Poetry
Hi #poetrycommunity! I'm Lucy, a British poet living in the Rheinland. I came back to #poetry after a 20 yr legal career and a cancer diagnosis. I've had 2 chapbooks published and my collection is out in 2025. Here's one from my 1st chap, We Wear The Crown.
