I extend my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Renee Nicole Good. A woman is dead, and no amount of federal spin will change that reality. After reviewing the footage himself, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said ICE’s account of what happened was “bullshit.” That matters.

Delay is not a neutral act in nonlinear systems. When power knows it cannot win an open contest over legitimacy, it switches to time as a weapon. Drag proceedings out, fragment opposition, normalize crisis, exhaust attention, and let irreversible thresholds do the rest.

Hardline immigration rhetoric in the 2020s is doing more than arguing about border policy. It is training a moral reflex. It is teaching people who counts as “us,” who counts as “them,” and most importantly, whose suffering is acceptable. That conditioning matters far more than the specific policies

As a guy who has to run a media company, the web has wholly balkanized and the places people get their information are YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, then everywhere else. Text-based social networks have been split up into hegemonic forums. Threads has faux scale, X has ragebait, Bluesky has jokes.
