I just submitted my design for flag and matching seal to The State Emblems Redesign Commission. I'm appreciating the thoughtful process on this quick timeline. Especially the part that incorporates revisions! #newMNflag
I spy the old flag, although I'm glad the new flag isn't tainted by association.

This is a cruel and unusual punishment.
Minnesota: "School officials say the [5-year-old] child was used as bait. They say [ICE] agents made little Liam knock on the door to ask to be let in in order to see if anyone else was home."

The Nazi's foiled by winter, yet again.
Protesters are scattered after attempting to chase Jake Lang supporters through the streets. At least one fight broke out.

The scene is settling down now as traffic returns in downtown Minneapolis in the blocks between City Hall and Capella Tower. bit.ly/3YKVl8Y

The Powderhorn Park Art Sled Rally is this Saturday, January 17th, 2 p.m.

This is just one example of the Minneapolis we are fighting for. I kind of hope a few of the national journalists show up.

I confirmed with Andrew Prekker, the designer of the actual new MN flag, that he made this flag too.

He's a good guy. He is a freelance artist and has a store.

Ope! Has anyone created a compilation video of ICE Agents slipping on the ice?
Ice commits an act of domestic terrorism against ICE.

It's funny 🤣

If you want to stop NBA tanking. Abolish the draft, start player development academies (even in cities where there aren't NBA teams), cash trades for players.

This is better than AAU/current college model.

I'm sad that DSC chose Miami, but this is a risky move! Miami chased out Callender who has been near DSC level, b/c Messi wanted a friend in goal.

DSC also not the greatest with his feet for a high possession team, that doesn't kick long.

I get it, a new challenge, more exposure. All the best.
Final news story: Dayne St. Clair went into free agency to maximize his leverage. #MNUFC was ready to make him a top-five highest-paid goalie in #MLS, but the Canadian opted for a smaller deal to play at Inter Miami and with Leo Messi.

As a 64A resident, I have a few thoughts about this special election:

1. I feel spoilt for choice. There are 4-5 candidates that look they could do the job.

2. We can do elections fast!

3. I respect any candidate that takes the personal risk to run in this political climate.

NCAA football/basketball should adopt pro/rel. It'd work because there are no owners or "franchise values" and fans will still come. Have a true champion. Basically scrap conferences.

The other NCAA sports should reorg to be regional.

As a long term transplant, one thing I have noticed is that Minnesotans don't wear their team's gear, unless they are going to the game.

This is in contrast to my IL and IA roots, where your teams' gear is your wardrobe

Destiny of the Republic is one of my favorite books, its what the Netflix series Death by Lightning is based on. Its historical non-fiction that reads like a novel. Highly recommend.

The series is great too, just too much to cram into four episodes!

Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine and the Murder of a President
The inspiration for the Netflix series Death by Lightning – now streaming! • NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The extraordinary account of James Garfield's rise from poverty to the American presidency, and the dramatic history of his assassination and legacy, from the bestselling author of The River of Doubt. "Crisp, concise and revealing history.... A fresh narrative that plumbs some of the most dramatic days in U.S. presidential history." —The Washington Post James Abram Garfield was one of the most extraordinary men ever elected president. Born into abject poverty, he rose to become a wunderkind scholar, a Civil War hero, a renowned congressman, and a reluctant presidential candidate who took on the nation's corrupt political establishment. But four months after Garfield's inauguration in 1881, he was shot in the back by a deranged office-seeker named Charles Guiteau. Garfield survived the attack, but became the object of bitter, behind-the-scenes struggles for power—over his administration, over the nation's future, and, hauntingly, over his medical care. Meticulously researched, epic in scope, and pulsating with an intimate human focus and high-velocity narrative drive, The Destiny of the Republic brings alive a forgotten chapter of U.S. history.Look for Candice Millard’s latest book, River of the Gods.

I've been thinking too much about MLS structure when I'm drawing on maps trying to figure out the divisions.

6 teams in 5 divisions.

Here are the 3 most chaotic ways that will likely be what MLS picks:

1. N to S
2. AL, NL, and/or AAA host city/region
3. Starting in the middle

I think I'm one of the few MNUFC fans in favor of the schedule switch. Being cold sucks but I'll trade it for a better on field product. The schedule will still avoid the worst of winter.

Hang on to your tickets give it a shot.
BREAKING: MLS owners have voted and passed a schedule change. The league will run from the late summer months through May.

This is due to start in summer of 2027. MLS will take winter break in Jan/Feb

MLS owners vote to flip schedule to European calendar, change format starting in 2027
MLS will soon align with leagues that play from the fall to the spring after a transformational decision made by its owners

November 13, 2025 at 9:38 PM
As a MNUFC fan, I see the pros and cons, but I'm supporting the switch:

1. Tani sale 3/4 thru season
2. The June SD home match in which we were thrashed without key players on intl break
3. Seeing Allianz not full for fall playoff matches
4. Better summer friendlies are more possible
Sources: MLS owners are expected to vote on flipping to fall-spring calendar at Thursday's BOG meeting. Could happen as soon as 2027.

Also: Changes to competition format expected too, including single league table + divisions.

I mean, I get the appeal of a blackout for the MNUFC match Saturday, but its going to be cold, so I'm going to be wearing my orange puffer coat.

Unless... here me out... attending fans get a Loons Puffer coat? huh? huh? hey?
Everyone looks good in black 🖤

This Sunday afternoon would have been lovely day to watch a #MNUFC playoff match

I'd feel much more comfortable with a calendar switch if #MLS intentionally scheduled matches on weekend afternoons between Oct - April.

With an extra hour of time to kill before this match, will the @loonybinpodcast.bsky.social be in the concourses ahead of the match giving pep talks to what looks like a fanbase expecting the worst? #MNUFC
