Occasionally I get questions about “how exactly was the insurance company Nate worked for responsible for his son’s death on the original LEVERAGE?” and it’s nice to have a current news item to point them to. The shittiness continues unabated!
Blue Cross had refused to pay thousands of claims for the center’s patients, but on several occasions executives at the insurance company had signed special one-time deals with the center to pay for their wives’ cancer treatment.

Blue Cross authorized mastectomies and breast reconstructions for women with cancer but refused to pay the full doctors’ bills. A jury called it fraud and awarded the practice $421 million.

This is very weird to have a show that nine years ago got almost grudgingly positive reviews that always ended with “of course, it’s not SERIOUS TV” and suddenly people get it close to a decade later.

I will admit one of the fun things about the streaming era is that I will awake at 6am and hundreds if not thousands of you beloved maniacs will already have torn apart, gif-ed and fan-theoried the first 3 eps of LEVERAGE:REDEMPTION to graduate dissertation level.

Well that’s lovely. Everybody worked on it appreciates the kind words.
REVIEW: The breezy caper series “Leverage: Redemption” is back for Season 3 and I can’t express how satisfying it is to watch a television show that doesn’t pretend we have to accept that systems are permanently rigged and we’re all doomed
‘Leverage: Redemption’ review: Breezy caper series with a moral compass is back for Season 3
The rich and corrupt are no match for the karmic justice dished out by the team on “Leverage: Redemption.”

With the demise of Joann's, I'm going to share a few online resources I've found. It's by no means exhaustive, but hopefully it helps folks find what they need. 🧵

From Going Postal, my favorite Discworld book by Sir Terry Pratchett.

Hey @loex.bsky.social ! Quick question: any update on if the 2025 conference will still be in Pasadena? I have to apply for the funds to go now so I wanted to check before I started looking at flights and hotels.
