A superb, heartbreaking and tough piece to read. The self-centredness of this is surreal. This trauma machine of an outfit should be shamed in to oblivion.

(As a warning, there's a lot of detail in this, if that's something not right for you)

I'm a little perplexed why kombucha is a more pertinent subject than a politician being sent to the klink for being a Russian stooge. Anyone?

It sounds like I should be grateful for my better sleep these days, and missing the dreadful TNT Ashes coverage overnight. I loved waking up with Test Match Special this morning, though! 🏏

My attempts at using technology a little more intentionally (yes I hiccup at this phrase too) continue.

I've grabbed one sec on my Mac and iPhone to interrupt those rabbit holes before I start moving my paws down them in the first place 9to5mac.com/2024/12/21/i...

I've decided to try using Reeder on my Mac and iPhone to focus what I read/watch online. I have always been a lover of RSS, and having control over where my attention goes online, but it's easy to let that slip and time go by.

Any other users of Reeder with some insider tips? #reeder #macOS #ios

These replacement bus services are grinding me down. Can we all just pause for a day and chip in building Addenbrookes station and get it done in a day please?

What's hot in the world of #bluesky #clients? I've never been a fan of the default layout, but the "deck" style is often too overwhelming. Anything highly recommended for #macOS, #iOS or a web client?

Some things I heard this week that resonated:

1. How would we organise and move our communities if we shifted to focus on what we long for and love rather than what we are negatively reacting to? (Pleasure Activism, adrienne maree brown)

I made a thing!

I was playing around with the AT protocol and as a little experiment I made a website that visualises activity around Bluesky: nightsky.hctr.dev

It listens to all new posts and shows them as little stars across a night sky 🌃

Every star is someone, somewhere, posting something

I picked up Orbital (Samantha Harvey) yesterday, the Booker winner. Novella or otherwise, it's beautiful writing so far. Have any friends here read it? Thoughts?

Took some time to switch from Arc this week after this astounding bug: kibty.town/blog/arc/

Lord knows I’ve written vulnerable code, and probably will again, but I’d hope I wouldn’t just trust client IDs in a request to an API… 👀
