My older kids (27 and 22) and I had gotten into this weird messenger chat about knots (iykyk) a while back after I (and then my daughter, the 22yo) read Bride. They gave me a gift and said there was a theme. Coffee? Nope. Then I saw the bookmark, and the 💡came on.

The (rightful) rage the author feels is palpable. The story seems almost light-hearted and ridiculous, but somehow it works beautifully. Just stunning. And the cover, that seemed so simple when I picked it up, had me in tears by the end of the story. Best book I've read this year.
