the orioles should definitely give a franchise record contract to a power-only first baseman on the wrong side of the aging curve. what could possibly go wrong

Seriously considering picking him up early from school to tell him. But that’s probably irresponsible parenting.
Pete Alonso is my son’s favorite non-Oriole. They owe him this because his two previous former players were Santander and Mullins.

You can’t fault the Orioles for not paying 5/150 for an older power hitter coming off a career year who can only DH. Especially because he went back to his incumbent team and it probably would have cost more to lure him away.

My youngest (2) corrected a kid at the gym daycare who said “what the fuck?” and said “no, you say what the HECK” and now the people that work there will be impressed with him. I’m not going to tell them it’s because I’ve had to correct him on that before.

I know the percentages say you should basically always go for any fourth and short, but going for it in your own territory in a defensive rock fight is just dumb.

This makes me curious to if the Orioles think they can get by with Rutschman and Basallo as their only 2 catchers when they’re both going to be in the lineup most days.

And idea that I’ve had for a while is that local Democratic parties should host things like neighborhood cookouts every month or so.
ah, perhaps instead of pumping millions into endless factional infighting Dem donors could invest in making local Dem organizations genuine civic spaces that can reach people during and between elections

A lot of people are gleefully writing Andrew Cuomo’s political obituary, but it’s naive to write him off. There’s a very good chance he wastes 10s of millions of donor dollars in 2, maybe 3 more elections.

#Orioles fans on here, when you see a guy, when you see a guy who is already on the 40 man roster and is pre-arbitration is signed to a “major league contract” it’s just a procedural move. They need to get guys under contract, and it can’t be an MiL deal without waivers. Guys can be waived later.

It’s absolutely ridiculous in an era where we have every video ever made in our pockets that politicians can get away with “haven’t seen it”. Take it out and show him.

Bieber vs Ohtani in game 4 tonight. Ohtani played all 18 innings (as a DH but still) and was on base 9 times. Did the Blue Jays send Bieber home to get a good nights sleep or did he stay the whole time?

Is it just that I watch them more or do the Ravens commit like a lot more illegal shift penalties than everyone else? Feels like that’s a problem you should be able to fix in one practice.

It took about a month but the Ravens finally realized they could hand the ball to Derrick Henry on 1st and goal.

Tyler Huntley has one of the worst arms I’ve ever seen on an NFL QB. If he was even just “below average” he’d be serviceable.
