deepest apologies for the continued delays on commissions everyone, i spent the last few weeks in an artistic fugue state working on wrapping up a project that has been sitting around at 85% complete for a couple years and now it's done! i'll likely talk about it more in the next week.

reiterating on this bit specifically: USE INVOICES. convert to a business account, use invoices, and file your taxes. keep track of what paypal takes off the top of your sales and write this off. you'll be shocked to see how much it helps.
THAT SAID: paypal fees are TAX DEDUCTIBLE (at least here in canada). you can keep track of/determine later while doing your taxes how much paypal scraped from you over the fiscal year and WRITE THAT OFF.

never forget: PayPal is not a bank and you should not, under absolutely any circumstances, leave money in your account that you don't intend on spending, whether you partake of completely legal sales and purchases often under scrutiny or not.

Also, don't leave your money in your PayPal account. Don't. Withdraw it immediately. They're not a bank, and if they close your account, they STEAL your money.
once again prefacing a rant with "not siding with paypal because fuck them" but i cannot stress enough that the word "commission" being used is not enough to get your account terminated. "commission" is a very normal business/financial term. it'd be like terminating farmers for saying "tractor".
