Great read, and spot on— I’ve always approached my lists less as a strict ranking of quality/enjoyment and more as an act of feng shui.

I wouldn't find it myself until a few years later, but this is probably the most important media debut for me personally in my lifetime. I wouldn't be the same person without it. At all. It's an epoch-defining show.

Udo Kier, one of the most interesting and accomplished actors with one of the deepest and most varied filmographies of any performer who ever lived (comedy, high drama, action, horror, erotica, videogames, in multiple languages, nations and continents) - dead at 81. What a life. RIP 🙏

A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE is a victim of Venice Film Festival hype. When it launched I thought it was going to be Netflix’s big award movie given the reactions.

Not only is it too long, but the most engaging material happens within the first 40 minutes.

Maybe not the best idea to make an entire movie out of a Second Act when "Everbody knows the show falls apart in Act 2." 🤷‍♂️

James Bond is not a “series,” and should not bother with “continuity.” James Bond is something closer to haiku, or twelve-bar blues: a format which can be repeated with endless variations.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."
