For all those ‘big club’ fans who moan about the international break - there is NO club football which can match this Scotland match or the Ireland game earlier in the week. It just hits differently.

I know Scotland fans probably don’t want my support as an Englishman. But largely because of my Scottish mates I’m invested and this is painful right now.

Pure snobbery. Now - I have bookcases, my kids have bookcases.
But I was lucky as a working class kid in a time when there was still a functioning school library and local public libraries to give me a love of books that I could pass on. And fortunate enough that we can afford books now.

Listening to I Should Coco by Supergrass for the first time in a while. An all time great album that is genuinely timeless, the 30 years since its release have been kind to it.
The same cannot be said of some other Britpop era records, but for the really good ones their brilliance shine through.

My club is in non-league and trust me I’ve watched some terrible football in recent years, but when it’s your team you are emotionally invested all the same. So I get it.

There’s a snobbery about Brisbane, but honestly watching these Riverfire fireworks right now on TV I can honestly say it looks amazing. In the 17/18 years I’ve lived here and the 24 years since I first visited it’s really come of age.

I am a first generation immigrant to Australia and I don’t feel threatened by these marches across the country today.
Which is EXACTLY the problem. We all know why I’ve no need to feel targeted but why others (who’ve potentially been here longer and are 2nd/3rd generation) will.
