Curation IS Creation: 8 years ago I used Google Translate to cycle a Yeats poem through dozens of languages and back to English. Most of what came out was gibberish, but 0.1% of the time an interesting phrase would show up. I CURATED those phrases and CREATED a new poem. (And then set it to music).

This is the longest shot in Toy Story. The floor is a single large plane with an entirely procedural shader I wrote. It couldn’t be played back at full res, so there was no way of knowing if it would alias before seeing it with the whole crew at film dailies. I was 23.
