On that note, if working on it starts to suck, change it! It's your comic, if you want to completely change the course of the story go for it! Part of the back story holding you back? Retcon it! Don't like a character's design? Change it! Someone complains about inconsistencies? Kill them!

Don't write for an audience. Make the comic for you. Feed your brainworms. Make it something you would read and obsess over forever. You'll be working on this thing for a long time, if you lose interest halfway through, then the rest becomes a slog.
