Hello world! Happy to discuss movies, music, TV series, books, video games and most other things.
I just watched the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Are my eyes deceiving me, or is this Pedro Pascal? Cool little cameo.

This song was featured in the latest episode of Industry. Holy shit, that's a lot of 90s.

I was mostly into grunge, alternative rock, Britpop, and skate punk back then. Now I think this sort of slaps?

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is heating up. ⚔️ I could easily have binged this show in one evening. I don't like the "you can only read one chapter a week" tactic.

Before a sound enters our ear canals and is transformed into electrical signals that our brain interprets, it's just a pressure wave with periods of compression and rarefaction.

A pressure wave is not a sound until it's heard. It's nuts how the waves can be turned into a rich tapestry of sounds.

The propaganda doc about the wife of a fascist, directed by a scumbag and paid for by Amazon as a bribe, is getting rave reviews on IMDb. LMFAO. Lowest rating I've ever seen.

I enjoyed the first episode of this on HBO. 99 years old. Will turn 100 this summer. Remarkable. My favorite Mel Brooks movie is Blazing Saddles. Loved it as a kid. Then probably Young Frankenstein.

He apparently was a producer on Eraserhead and The Fly.

The drawback of watching A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is that afterwards, you're abruptly thrown back into this sad world that currently seems to get a little worse every day.

Loved the first episode. Just the kind of escapism I needed. More humorous than GoT and House of the Dragon.

Industry might be the most well-written series since Succession. The last episode was high drama.

I love the first two Alien films. I actually enjoy the fourth. Never liked the third, although the extended version actually is an improvement.

All the Alien films are on HBO now. Gave Covenant a second chance. I think the first act is fine. It goes downhill when they reach the planet.

I'm watching Misery (1990). Kathy Bates absolutely deserved her Oscar for her performance.

She quickly switches between acting cordial, excited and delighted, goofy, melancholic, psychotic, and creepy as hell. What a great movie villain.

Best movies to watch when snowed in:

The Hateful Eight
The Shining
Misery
The Thing

What else?

I loved snow as a kid. You could have so much fun with it. Snow was magical.

We've had 40 cm of snow for about three weeks. I built a giant 2.2 meter snow man (snow monster) the first day. That's the only fun I've had with the snow. It's a beautiful, impractical nuisance.

January is hands down the worst month of the year in the Nordics. Good grief.

* You're fully subdued after four months of cold and darkness
* All the December festivities are over
* 31 days
* Spring is still but a dream
* Cold and dark AF

Death to January. 🫡

Strong start of Industry season 4. Very underrated HBO series. The show is so well-written and intriguing that it's captivating even when you don't care about the world of finance.

I recommended The Holdovers to my sister since it's on Netflix now. Today she told me she watched it with my niece, and they loved the film.

I decided to rewatch it. Paul Giamatti is a great actor. He can express so much just with his eyes and his face. Payne's best movie after Sideways.

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

I wish I could sway to music as smoothly as the Khruangbin bassist. The drummer is like a metronome. Love it.
