How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

I made a new friend cause we were both masked on public transit.
An interesting thing I've noticed since masking stopped being common: When I see another masked person, even a stranger, we often exchange eye contact and a nod. Like, oh that's nice, there's one other person in this room who definitely isn't judging me and was probably also feeling awkwardly alone.
Sometimes when people ask me why I’m wearing a mask I say I’m traveling or have some important thing soon and can’t afford to get sick and miss it and that’s pretty much always true but I think it would be nice if it were more normalized to just say “I don’t want to get sick” and leave it at that

Hunger and Disability are both renewable needs. They come back again and again.

We meet the need of hunger with diverse creativity, with food trucks and mres, instant noodles and Michelin stars.

We meet disability with disgust hell bent on eradication. But it comes back, a renewable need.

I'm not a tradwife but I do make broth and noodles and bread and cheese from scratch. I make and mend our clothes.

Cause it's cheaper and we are broke.

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.
Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

If you put a white screen in a video game and thus flashbang players eyeballs...

You do not care about disabled players. You do not take game design seriously. Straight to jail.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Recession core/General strike prep tip of the day:

Mending torn bed sheets and garments is not only cheaper but also literally faster and more convenient than buying new.

If "right to comfort" is white supremacy culture then why do anti racist leftists keep arguing that masks are too uncomfortable?
People continue to call COVID advocates’ pleas for masking “unreasonable”.

Yet people who’ve already been disabled by COVID have no choice but to live with the “unreasonable” burdens of constant COVID safety.

My latest:

Beyond all reason
Long COVID patients are constantly harangued about our requests for COVID safety. Yet what we're asking for is far less than what we're called on to do to survive.

Rodney Taylor still needs our help!

He’s still locked in an ICE camp.

He’s still going without his new prosthetic legs.

He’s still facing deportation to Liberia.

He’s still having necessary disability accommodations ignored.

Please keep sharing his story. Public pressure works!
