Part of me wishes I could be like Oh yes the masters are my biggest influences: Tezuka, Dostoevsky, Eisner! But I gotta be honest about the fact that stuff like Eek! The Cat has inspired me more than anything.

Reading Tennapel's and John K's blogs back in the day was so wild and depressing. Its true what they say about meeting your heroes, but still at the same time I'm glad to have the rose tinted glasses off.

Mignola’s early Marvel work was so damn good. iirc, fans would send hate letters in about it because it was the era of Liefeld and Lees, just weren’t ready for that heat. But just look at this stuff. That pinup was my first time seeing his work, that Cannonball is so rad. 2nd is just perfect
