<div class="field field-field-text"><p><a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/countries/israel" target="_blank">Israeli</a> authorities expelled dozens of <a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/countries/palestine" target="_blank">Palestinian</a> patients from hospitals in Jerusalem back to the Gaza Strip on Monday, according to local media reports.</p>
<p>The patients and their families, originally from the Gaza Strip, had sought treatment in Jerusalem before the war erupted in October 2023 and remained in the city since.</p>
<p>Some had completed their treatment and expressed desire to return to the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. </p>
<p>However, there were concerns that others will be forced to return, according to Arab48.</p>
<p>Local media said two buses carrying some of the patients and their families arrived at the Kerem Abu Salem crossing between the Gaza Strip and Israel on Monday morning.</p>

But Unrwa says Israel continues to hold back convoys, particularly those linked to the agency, prolonging the humanitarian crisis.</p>
<p data-end="845" data-start="457">Tamara Alrifai, Unrwa’s director of communications, said the agency still faces sweeping restrictions despite its central role in the enclave. “Unrwa is under double the amount of scrutiny and restrictions than other agencies despite being the largest agency there,” she said, noting that stockpiles in Egypt and Jordan could immediately fill 6,000 lorries if Israel allowed them through.</p>
<p data-end="991" data-start="847">Bottlenecks at the few crossings that remain open have left long lines of aid trucks idling for days, she added, as Israeli inspections drag on.</p>
<p data-end="1353" data-start="993">Alrifai said Israeli authorities continue to block basic goods by branding them as “dual use” items, an approach aid groups say has no connection to civilian needs but everything to do with deepening the siege. “Israel, during the inspection and the scrutiny, would take out many items that are extremely needed, especially in this winter situation,” she said</p>

You may say it was a daft idea to trap last night - well, it was & it wasn't. On the plus-side, my first December Moth for four years, although it was the only moth in the trap. Also on the minus-side, my bulb failed at some time after 11.30. Perhaps the cold was too much for it? VC37 SO96 #teammoth

<p>More than 1,500 Palestinians have been forced from their homes this year because Israel withholds building permits that Palestinians say are practically impossible to obtain. About 1,000 were expelled from Area C and another 500 from occupied East Jerusalem.</p>

<div class="field field-field-text"><p>The death toll in the Gaza Strip since the start of Israel's genocide in October 2023 has risen to 68,865, the Palestinian health ministry announced. The majority of victims are women and children.</p>
<p>The ministry added on Sunday that the number of wounded had increased to 170,670. </p>
<p>It said the bodies of seven victims arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip over the last 24 hours, including three recently killed Palestinians, three recovered from under the debris, and one who succumbed to their wounds.</p>
<p>Since the ceasefire took effect on 11 October, 236 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and at least 600 others wounded.</p>

<div class="field field-field-text"><p>An Israeli air strike killed a Palestinian man in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, Palestinian health authorities said.</p>
<p>Al-Ahli Hospital said one man was killed in the air strike near a vegetable market in the Shujaiya suburb of Gaza City. His identity was not immediately known.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, the Israeli military said on Saturday that its troops were attacked by fighters in Gaza.</p>
<p>Hamas did not immediately respond to a request for comment. In a separate statement, it listed a series of Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreed in October, which have killed more than 200 people.</p>
<p>At least 236 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since the ceasefire took effect, according to the Palestinian health ministry.</p>
<p>Three Israeli soldiers have been killed by Palestinian fighters in the same period, according to the Israeli military.</p>
<p>Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel would respond to any attempts to harm its troops in Gaza.</p>
<p>"There are still Hamas pockets in the areas under our control in Gaza, and we are systematically eliminating them," Netanyahu said.</p>
<p>Hamas said the United States was not doing enough to ensure Israel abides by the ceasefire agreement.</p>
