I can't stand GNOME anymore; the multi-monitor support is a disaster. I'll try KDE for a while and then I'll probably go back crawling.

Google creating a global centralized registration system for new Android apps is a bad idea for users, for developers, and competition. Google should nip it in the bud now. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...

What worries me is that after they normalize this behavior they're going to go after people who circumvent it.

They're going to criminalize using other OSes like Linux that don't have surveillance.

The moment to push back at this is now.
If you're using Windows 11, Microsoft is now surveilling you in a new way. This may already be turned on on your computer, and you would not be notified; it activates whenever they detect you are in a "game", which in my experience Microsoft often false-positives on

Are you looking for a way to output video & audio from your device with HDMI to your CRT with component inputs? (a.k.a ypbpr) This is the adapter you should buy.

The ones on AliExpress don't output 480i, only 480p and higher.
I recently released a video showcasing cheap 480i HDMI #downscalers for CRT's and said I couldn't find one that outputted YPbPr. Well, I was wrong! Here's a short video showcasing a decent, low lag one!: youtu.be/BUgTIOqetYU

I updated my LG TV that runs on WebOS and Microsoft Copilot invited itself.

You can't uninstall it.

I always close the nagging banners when there's a Wikipedia fundraiser going.

Discovering computer as an adult makes you go crazy. Discovering computer as a baby makes you go crazy. In all of human history, there will only ever be one generation to discover computer at the correct age: 13
The problem with every post-Millennial generation is they got to go straight to high speed internet. Of course you'll get computer madness that way. Make them start with those old screeching modems and work their way up

In Super Mario Odyssey, kicking things is Mario's highest priority, overriding all other actions. If a kickable object, such as a football, is thrown at Mario while he is asleep, he will momentarily wake up just to kick it before instantly going back to sleep.

I really hate the term "sideloading". I preferred the original term, which was "installing software on a computer that you own"

Don't ever buy a Samsung home appliance. They're made of the cheapest most brittle plastic.

I bought this washing machine last year and it spontaneously cracked on a corner. Also the plastic got scratched just by dragging the clothes out.

1 hour of silence occasionally broken up by a very tired Mario saying "Hello door" and "Another door!"
For a long time, humorous clips of Mario saying "Hello door" and "Another door?!" in Super Mario Sunshine were known about, but presumed unused. It turns out they can actually be heard in the game by performing an unreasonably specific action in the debug testing room.
