I don't even like the tone of the CW article.
The writer is beating himself up over nothing, but also managing beating every other ebike rider up too.
It certainly isn't cheating or shameful. Everyone on an ebike is lapping those on the couch or a car seat
I love having an ebike. I have a problem with snobbery. Cycling is a glorious thing; at its heart, it's what you make it. It's fun, it's liberating, it can be sociable, it makes places better. It takes us to those places, and back. No-one hears they're cheating for driving, so can we drop the BS?
Why do I feel like a cheat every time I ride my e-bike?
I love my e-bike but struggle with the shame that accompanies me on my rides. Why?

Excellent editorial here.
An SUV causes 16 times as much road damage as a regular car.
They're way more dangerous in collisions or if one hits a pedestrian or cyclist.
They have no redeeming factors and 99%+ are just ego wagons for their drivers. Tax them to hell

The Observer view on SUVs: they are too dangerous and too big, their drivers should be made to pay
If a car generates more potholes, takes up more space and poses more risk, it is only fair that its owner pays more

I used to drop two kids at different places and get myself to work. I did it with buses and a folding bicycle. It wasn't that hard
All well and good, but some people have to drop a kid off for childcare at one time then be in work a short time later, and/or the opposite in the evening.
