📕 Functional Stream Processing has a new release!

"Part2: Handling side effects" has been significantly improved.

Each part now includes a wonderful illustration, featuring the cats of Typelevel contributors. Have fun guessing what they're doing!

If you're thinking of paying to use Windsurf, I'll leave this here for you to reconsider who's getting your money: techcrunch.com/2025/08/05/t... no work-life balance, six days at office, 80 work hours per week. While others call it crunch and hide it, they're proud to the point of showing off 🤮
Three weeks after acquiring Windsurf, Cognition offers staff the exit door | TechCrunch
Cognition is also laying off 30 employees. Those who don't take the buyout are expected to work 80+ hour weeks.

Hey @gearboxofficial.bsky.social is it possible that you take a look at Pandora's Box pack selling right now on Steam? I'm unable to buy it as when I'm about to pay it says there are duplicated items in my cart (only contains Pandora's Box) ☹️

Wild prediction related to the death of Stackoverflow (devclass.com/2025/05/13/s...): open source, as any other kind of free source of knowledge, will be dead in a few years too due to AI parasitism. We'll see an explosion of paid, closed, expert ecosystems, AI companies won't be able to tap on.

What a day, 12hr power outage! It is really easy to forget how miserable our lives are without electricity (or internet!), and a good reminder that many people across the world (mainly Africa) have to struggle with unreliable or non-existing supply very often.

Many thanks to the contributors involved in this release! A small smorgasbord of quality of life improvements and a wacky Waypoints demo. What's not to love?

I've really enjoyed attending @scalar-conf.com one more year, two in a row visiting Warszawa 🇵🇱! Met a lot of people in person, some for the first time, and learned a lot with talks. Plus the weather was as good as you can ask for polish weather 😂

With AST seemingly explorer not maintained, I decided to try and implement it in Scala.js.

Lots of fun, until I hit several recursion bugs in my interval tree implementation, and it was hell from that point onwards.

This will soon be hosted under Scalameta org and website.

I'd say maybe a couple of years ago it made sense to buy a Tesla, but European and of course Asian companies are getting up to speed or have even surpassed Tesla. Not to speak of the political implications of buying a 🇺🇸 brand right now as 🇪🇺. Personally, I really like the new KIA EV4 Hatchback.

Esto, esto es lo que necesitamos hacer en España (o la UE en general). Si EEUU es lo que es hoy en día, además de por población, es porque todo el talento mundial emigraba hacia allí.

If I were Canadian PM I would immediately:

1. Create a new $15B science fund

2. Offer any credentialed US scientist funding for lab startup and replacement of NIH grants if they move to Canada

3. Immediate permanent residency

4. Citizenship after 2 years

Overnight a science superpower

So! It's been ages! For releases, 2024 was my 'lost' year as I slogged through the surprisingly hard problem of building a component UI system from scratch.

But I'm pleased to announce a raft of new releases. If you want to do some weird stuff with #Scala, look no further..

I haven't touched my twitter account since I deleted all my tweets and locked it up back in November. Now I've received an email, they have suspended it because of a 'Inauthentic Behaviors' rule violation. I don't really care anymore about the account, but that's a blatant lie: it's a purge.
