I'm a trans gamedesigner in South America.

I designed a strategy board game for 2 players with a chess-like pace, poker-like bluffing, and a sprawling cosmic board.

Take command of a fleet of starships and army of demigods, and battle for galactic supremacy!

The idea that Jim Kirk is some womanizing jock is not compatible with the actual text of Star Trek.

He never shows an interest in sports.

He plays 3D chess all the time.

He has an encyclopedic knowledge of historical trivia.

And in only 13 of 79 episodes does he consensually even kiss a woman.

If you’ll recall, the election was actually very close. Trump won with a narrow 1.5-point margin in the popular vote. And yet, the idea that America had experienced a political “earthquake” that demanded far-reaching interpretations became gospel almost immediately.

Wrath of Khan explicitly addresses the need for adaptive devices in the future. McCoy gets Kirk glasses because Kirk is one of the few people for whom corrective medicine does not work. He's allergic to the medicine they would normally use.
I have a friend who said, of Starfleet Academy, that this took them out of it - that seeing a person in a wheelchair in the 32nd century seemed unrealistic, since medicine in Star Trek "should be able to cure whatever was wrong with them."

That's not the case, for any number of possible reasons.

Iran's protest will not lead to revolution due to a lack of ideological unity.

Those who oppose the theocracy include progressive Muslims, communists, secular democrats, and - most alarmingly - monarchists.

They are as diametrically opposed to each other as they are to the regime.

Sodium is an explosive metal.

Chlorine is a toxic gas.

Put them together and what do you get?

Table salt.

I don't understand people who play video games, and then get so angry they break things.

If a video game is frustrating me at all, I either take a break or just stop playing that game.

How hard is that?

Tolkien's distaste for metaphor and claim that his work did not contain any is the most delusional denial that ever came from a relatively intelligent author.

Police lie so often that lawyers have a term for it:

Testilying.

Keep that in mind when moderate Democrats say that ICE and CBP agents should be held to the same standards as police.

Fiction media aimed at preschoolers is a bad thing.

Stories that are appropriate for and appeal to all ages stretch the growing mind.

Baby Einstein stunted development because it met preschoolers at their exact level.

You need to expose youngsters to new ideas so they can grow.

Vitamin and mineral supplements were originally designed for sailors and surveyors who didn't have access to a wide range of nutritious food on long voyages and treks across the sea or largely uninhabited land.

They're being marketed to normal people to increase sales, not to help you stay healthy.

Because Japanese politics are being dominated by fascists, the Japanese Communist Party needs to start hosting screenings of leftist tokusatsu films and shows, with a discussion at the end about how Japanese values are inherently socialist, and represented in their fiction.

Don't forget what made Kamen Rider special in the first place.

It has wonderful martial art, costume design, and writing.

But more than anything it was about KILLING NAZIS.

Star Trek TOS was made almost 60 years ago.

It's not futuristic anymore, it's retrofuturistic.

Attempting to make sequels which are currently futuristic, but set in the same universe, doesn't make sense.

It would be easier if current Trek committed to being retrofuturistic.
