As I was unlocking my bike after shopping at the supermarket yesterday a guy pulled up on this ebike with this adorable dog in the rear basket!

A reminder that even in neighborhoods without great bike infrastructure people still use bicycles to help live their lives better.

NSW road fines:

Driving 10 km/h over limit : $149
Driving 20 km/h over limit: $345
Cycling without a helmet: $410

Bicycle NSW is right to finally call out these wildly disproportionate penalties. bicyclensw.org.au/disproportio...

Productivity Commission chair Danielle Wood supports a road congestion levy for Melbourne CBD. Suggests the CBD should no longer be viewed as a place to house workers but a week-long destination for recreation and culture. Someone finally gets it. www.theage.com.au/national/vic...

City of Sydney trialling on-street parking bays for share e-bikes. Good to see a council finally adopting the obvious solution to footpath clutter. 👍 www.abc.net.au/news/2025-02...

Failed Yarra local election candidate says local cyclists are “heavily subsidised by the community” while drivers pay their way. Fair to say we dodged a bullet with this guy.

It’s a beautiful summer afternoon in inner-city Yarra but our esteemed, self-appointed community spokesman is having another cycling-related meltdown on FB. Please send love

Love riding through this street in my neighbourhood. Filtered to prevent rat-running and a beautiful canopy of leaves to provide shade in summer. Trees are also on the street and not the footpath. Sometimes we get it right.

London’s LTNs changed the life of my neighbourhood in ways that’s hard to describe to North Americans. This is my road every morning as a result.

Hopefully the new deputy mayor of Yarra council, currently on stage at Carols by Candlelight, has taken notice of the large number of residents and families who have arrived here by bike.

Special props to my 15yo son who spent the entirety of his first big metal gig right near the front of stage. Proper hardcore. 🤘

These boxes (not sure what they are but happy to be enlightened) have now been placed like this in front of 4 separate bike hoops in my area, leaving no room to lock larger bikes like my cargo bike. Who on earth thought this was a good idea?

So a charming driver just deliberately drove into the path of my bike and gave me an x-rated earful because he wasn’t aware of the counterflow lane on this one way street. Fourth time this year getting abused and targeted right near my house. It’s Bluesky but the same old shit. 😁

Hello Bluesky. I really wanted my first post to be a POV from my local pub with a strategically placed pretentious tome. So here we are.
