Having said I’m interested in #bookhistory and #libraryhistory I should probably introduce myself.
Hi, I’m Raphaëlle. I’m doing a PhD on the organisation, binding, and generally the history of the Cotton manuscripts at the British Library (specifically @BLMedieval but they aren’t over here yet)
What are you reading this week bluesky? #books #booksaboutbooks #manuscripts

Please enjoy looking at our new acquisition @bodleianlibraries.bsky.social, the French New Testament, formally owned by Jean le Bon, King of France & Humfrey Duke of Gloucester, illuminated by the Cholet Master. Now on Digital Bodleian: digital.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/objects/d529...

What a brilliant (some might say… illuminating) day, can’t thank the Bodleian or the speakers enough. They covered an incredible range of subject, from the origins of the manuscript itself to Anglo-French exchanges in the medieval period (1/2)

Calling for #bookish recipe suggestions! I fancy bringing something into the office.

Picture of my deplorable attempt at making a galette des rois inspired by the BL’s Medieval Women design to grab attention. Still better than last year’s Cotton MS Claudius A III thanks to the homemade puff pastry

Taking a break from reading to play tourist. Renovations going well, I’d say!

I have been going through and deleting the content I’ve uploaded to the other place, and in the process stumbled back on a thread created as a response to
@arbookworm.bsky.social who was asking some very interesting questions about identifying and manuscripts, and if Cotton class marks were fluid

I'm feeling intellectually lazy, so:
Does anyone know of a thesis or study on the libraries of new training colleges for modernising pre-industrial professions in the 19th century. e.g. Medical/legal/military college libraries?

Made a medieval manuscripts and book history starter pack (broadly defined). It is definitely not exhaustive so please comment and I'll add you and the accounts that you think are missing!

Thank you to all of the speakers, and all of the attendees (both online and in-person), who joined us today - and to our fantastic collaborators at @memsunikent.bsky.social Bookscapes!
