Once, in elementary school, I forged signatures on a petition to ban heavy textbooks which we had to carry home. Even with the 200 signatures, the motion didn’t pass.
Wanna know how bad the Arizona legislator's petition forgeries were? Here's the examples from the Austin Smith indictment.

Some personal news: After nearly 14 years, I'm leaving my incredible team (and family!) @huffpost.com for a new opportunity.

My goodbye email was 1500 words, there's not enough space here to express my gratitude to this newsroom and share everything we've done together. But what a ride.

This is an important piece, but it leaves out a key detail - commercial vehicles (incl vehicles “used in commercial pursuits” are prohibited from the B-W parkway. That is part of why this selective enforcement can happen in the first place.
NEW—US Park Police w/ DHS officers near DC are increasingly pulling over Black and brown men, leaving their work vans on the side of the parkway + immediately calling a local towing company to take them. Families who just lost their breadwinner are stuck with the bill.

@melbuer.bsky.social reports:
Families of DC-area immigrant drivers snatched by feds stuck with tow bill
Elected officials and activists note work vehicles removed lightning fast, resulting in hundreds in fees.

A great read, and a fascinating movement!
I went to Vancouver to visit Sen̓áḵw, one of the most impressive housing developments in the world. Squamish Nation is building 6000 apartments on its reserve land with no city council permission required. Could this be the future of iwi-led housing in Aotearoa?

BREAKING update to my lawsuit against DC Metropolitan PD for body cam footage from USIP raid —

We've submitted our response, including sworn declarations from *six* USIP workers, 1 of whom says he "observed members of MPD giving each other high-fives and fist bumps" after removing staff from bldg.

The agent telling Alex to move away has been at the two stops I witnessed yesterday & Tuesday. A clear pattern here of ICE targeting people during morning commutes.
I had a run in with ICE snatching a man out of his car while walking my children to school this morning in NW DC

I asked a neighbor to continue walking my kids to school and I turned back to document and confront the ICE agents.

I am in contact with @dcmigrantmutualaid.org with the full video.

Another ICE kidnapping in DC today. New Hampshire, First & Hamilton. The man taken was denied the ability to tell us his name, or who to call. The cruelty is unending.

ICE in Grant Circle Park this morning. A sleepy neighborhood. They appear to have detained someone driving a work vehicle. Happened during my commute. I arrived after the person they detained had already been transported, but caught the aftermath. DC be on lookout, ICE plate # 5GK6745

Teen Vogue being gutted & reanimated as an apolitical magazine without its own independent website should tell you a lot about the internalized misogyny & continued patriarchy in this new ‘era’ of journalism. Shame on Chloe Malle.

Lex was a great editor and super responsive to my many emails as a hopeful freelance. This is terrible.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
