Your 'moment of doom' for Sept. 10, 2025 ~ Termination shock.

Is Earth’s climate in a state of 'termination shock'?
Cleaning up air pollution has saved millions of lives, but it has also given us an inadvertent taste of a nightmare climate scenario. The race is on to understand how bad it could be – and how to swer...

Here's the August update to the "Total Column Precipitable Water" for the Northern Mid-Latitudes (e.g. US, UK, Europe and Japan).

The TCPW is continuing its modest trend downward from the Nov. 2024 peak, but is still at a record high relative to anything seen in 1941-2023.

Metadata Shows the FBI’s ‘Raw’ Jeffrey Epstein Prison Video Was Likely Modified
There is no evidence the footage was deceptively manipulated, but ambiguities around how the video was processed may further fuel conspiracy theories about Epstein's death.

Antarctic sea-ice extent currently ranks 3rd lowest on record, behind only (you guessed it) 2023 and 2024.

We see here a self-styled "honest broker" with decades of experience in downplaying climate change presenting an age-old climate denial trope: using *annual* rainfall data as argument against an increase in *extreme* rainfall.
Does he *really* not know better? Or assume his readers won't?

But they just kept on lying and drilling oil instead.

Is global warming just part of Earth’s natural cycle? In this episode of Weathered, we break down why that’s not the full story. From ice ages and Milankovitch cycles to the role of CO2 and fossil fuels, today’s climate change is unlike anything in Earth’s deep past. Learn why the speed of warming m

Lets be a little careful here; while it seems to be the case that there have been real performance challenges, it is also not uncommon that other clean energy technologies (EVs, solar panels, etc.) take a year or two of operation to pay off their embodied emissions:

Fossil-fuel caused warming enhances wildfires. That is well-proven science by now and makes physical sense. The historic fires in South Korea in March are yet another example.
