It’s the unconventional families that are often the most welcoming, accepting and loving.
This has made me properly cry, especially at this time of year when I'm very conscious I'm on my own and not part of a conventional family and with my dad not here anymore. Thank you... going to keep that comment. Xxx

Witnessing delirium in an elderly parent during/following an infection is traumatic. Can any clinicians offer any general suggestions (ie NOT SPECIFIC MEDICAL ADVICE - I don’t want you struck off!) about how to prevent recurrence?

OMG I read a thread of wholesome things on Twitter and this dude replied saying “This got me hard” and I closed the app in disgust saying “Could men just stop it for one fucking day? They bring sex into everything!” And then I realised what he actually meant.

I am an autistic ADHDer with both misophonia and misokinesia. These are debilitating conditions and just because you may not have them doesn’t make them invalid. Miso on an extreme scale can cause distressing bodily symptoms as well as emotional ones.
The way people in public react to seeing my, and many other autistic individuals', stimming this seems to be far more common than made out here, or there are a lot of people who are just arseholes out there.

I asked my therapist “Which ego defences do I use?” Therapist: “Which ego defences do YOU think you use? This is not the sort of question you ask 10 minutes before the end of a session.” So we decided I would observe myself, and we’d compare notes next time. Insight check! Yay!

This puzzles me, too. Could antipsychiatrists (you know who I mean) who are psychiatrists please tell us if you were antipsychiatry when you joined the profession or did it sort of develop in you while you were working with us?
I still can't get over psychiatrists who are anti-psychiatrist.
